Join us at Sun King for the SWE-CI 2019 Committee Mingle!
Join us on Wednesday, August 28th for our annual Networking and Committee Mingle at Sun King Brewery! Stop by any time between 5-7:30 PM for snacks and a drink. You'll have a chance to meet some of SWE-CI's board members, learn about the happenings of SWE-CI, give your input on the events you'd like to see in the area, and learn about how to get involved! Sun King's downtown location is family friendly, so feel free to bring the kiddos!
Call for volunteers for a Girls Inc. STEM outreach event!
We're looking for volunteers to help teach 12-14 year old girls about the Engineering Grand Challenges related to healthcare. The event is on Saturday, September 7th from 10:00AM - 2:00 PM and will be held at Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis on Meridian Street. Volunteers will help as an extra set of hands to execute a prepared lesson and interactive activity. Interested volunteers can email Katherine at email@example.com and can volunteer for one shift or the whole time.
On Tuesday, July 23rd, SWE-CI took an educational tour of the Cummins Technical Center (CTC) in Columbus, IN followed by networking and dinner at Upland Brewing Company. We learned about the engineering at Cummins and networked with SWE and non-SWE professionals! Participants toured the Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) Lab, Machine Shop, Experimental Machining Lab, and saw the 89 test cells including the Emissions Lab and a cold cell which tests Cummins engines at -40degF. Thank you to all participants, those who assisted in making it happen, Upland Brewery, and a special thanks to Mike and the operators who shared their time and knowledge with us!
