A poem for you and your player...
T’was two months before Little League and all through stands,
Not a creature was stirring not even the fans.
All the player registrations had been done with care,
In hopes that sunny weather would soon be there.
The Eastlake Little Leaguers were nestled snug in their beds,
While visions of dingers danced in their heads.
With mamma in her jersey and I in a ball cap,
Had covered a brand new glove in holiday wrap.
When out on the field there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my house to see if there was a batter.
I looked at the field and I saw a ball being smashed,
There was a man all in red running the bases in a flash.
I hoped for a moment he was the Mariner's new pick,
As I looked closer I saw that he was St. Nick.
And he whistled, and called all his players by name:
"Now, First base! now, Second! now Third base and Pitcher!
On, Left, Right, Center Field! On Short stop and Catcher!
Now hit away! Hit away! Hit away all!"
He sprang to coach 3rd and gave his team a whistle,
And away they all hit with pitches down the middle.
And I heard him exclaim, as they drove balls out of sight,
“Happy times playing ball, ball is such a delight!”
Thank you to everyone who has registered so far. It is such a delight to see familiar and new players registering. Yahoo! I can't wait to get our community back to the ball fields.
Still need to register?
Thanks again for registering early is to soooo HELPFUL to organize the league to have an understanding how many players and coaches we will have.
Thank you so much,
