Just got back from the beach with our daughter Ziza. She’s learning how to surf and doing a fantastic job! There’s nothing like a sunset surf session with her and Trinity (her new nanny and homeschool teacher) while Avion shoots videos of Ziza riding the waves!
My favorite time of the day has to be looking at the painted skies around sunset, just before I head off to the studio to work on our future releases like The Blessing, Musicianaries Remixed, and Reggae Christmas 2. Then at 12am (PST) each day (M-F) we replay another Ascend class which is followed up by an Instagram Live session answering questions from students on the other side of the planet. (See this week’s Ascend schedule below).
Last month we released our Imigongo music video (WATCH NOW) that showed you how they make beautiful art out of dung and ash in Rwanda.
We also released a heartwarming evangelistic video of my Mom on how she manages to keep “Painting Through The Pain” (WATCH NOW).
UPDATE ON MY DAD:
My mom has been going through a lot as my Dad has been sick in the hospital for a few months. Thankfully he is now free of Covid19, praise the Lord! He’s still in a nursing home recovering from encephalitis. And my mom is still painting and praying that Dad comes home completely healed in both mind and body. Will you please continue to pray for his full recovery?
Speaking of art, what do you think is the greatest masterpiece on earth? Is it hanging in the Louvre? Is it found on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel? I think not. The greatest masterpiece in the world is humanity. It’s you!
The greatest demonstration of God’s love for you was in sacrificing His Son Jesus Christ. And the greatest thing that we can do in return is to love Him, use our talents for Him, and share this love with others.
THE VIDEO CONCEPT:
That’s what we’ve attempted to do through our latest “So Will I (100 Billion X)” music video (WATCH NOW). We wanted to showcase the glory of creation from painted skies to snowy mountains, giraffes to jellyfish, deserts to waterfalls, and caves to volcanoes. All of this beauty is projected on the canvas of God’s most magnificent creation – mankind. Let’s face it, Jesus didn’t die for the dolphins or desert camels. He died for us. And so we have chosen to live for Him.
GOD’S MIRACULOUS PROVISION:
So we had a video shot, but we were FAR from done. Then we started our Ascend MasterClasses. Teaching 40 masterclasses (around 20 of which I was a part) was an overwhelming task to say the least. One of these classes was Cinematography.
After teaching this class I received an email from a student in Colombia who was blessed by the class. He offered to help with visual FX for our music videos. As an expert in After Effects, he was looking for an opportunity to use his gifts for the Lord.
What an answer to prayer! We were blown away by his generosity when he insisted on doing the whole video for free! He said he was very inspired by the class, and though he couldn’t donate financially, he wanted to tithe his time. We were speechless!
It gets better… we tried to pay him something for this, but he insisted on doing it for free and even took time off of work to do it! We couldn’t believe this!
And when he finally went back to work he sent me this mindblowing text:
“Mark! I started receiving blessings… my boss increased my salary suddenly… no explanation… you are sooo good land to plant seeds OMG God is good!”
And then a few days later he said that his wife got a new job! The Lord always provides!
THE END RESULT:
The end result is by far my favorite video we’ve ever released. It is a gorgeous masterpiece. And if you see the moment that shows my Dad, me and then Ziza and the tree, you’ll realize just why this magnificent video made my Mother cry.
We’ve never seen such a positive initial response from a music video. We knew that it was resonating with others when the emails immediately started flooding in on Friday after it was released.
Now will you please help us reach even more with this masterpiece that points towards the Cross? Please like, comment, and share it. We don’t have a big label or distributer. We shoot and edit in a garage! But if you comment and share, it will immensely help with YouTube’s algorithm and get the video in front of more eyes. And while you are there, please remember to subscribe and turn on notifications. Thanks so much for your support!
