Dear <<First Name>>,
What do the Holy Spirit, Bach and birthday cake have in common? You'll find all three this Pentecost Sunday at the American International Church!
Pentecost is the day that the Holy Spirit descends on the disciples gathered in Jerusalem after Jesus' ascension. The Spirit gives them power to share Jesus' message of love with the whole world.
Our Pentecost worship will center in J.S. Bach's Pentecost Cantata, featuring the AIC choir and the City Bach Collective on period instruments. The music is full of the power and exhilaration of Pentecost, sure to light us on fire and help us feel the Spirit among us today.
Pentecost is often called the "birthday of the church," because the Spirit's presence is what calls the church into being. Here at the American International Church, this June marks 50 years since our formal incorporation as the American Church in London. We'll celebrate with a new incarnation and legal incorporation, taking steps on Sunday in our congregational meeting, and have birthday cake to share after worship.
It's going to be a great day! Looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday.
