Dear <<First Name>>,

It's the opposite of Easter season these days. Leaves are falling, days are darkening, weather growing colder. And yet, we need a glimpse of hope and resurrection more than ever.

Christians believe every Sunday is a "little Easter," so we glimpse resurrection every week. Our Resurrection Resilience series is trying to sustain us in Easter hope even as winter and virus and political uproar cast long shadows over us.

Last week, we talked about the cross, and where to find hope even when everything is taken away from you. (Watch here.) This week, we'll talk about "resurrection for the living," and finding renewal in our lives right now. Next week, we'll talk about eternal life, as we mark All Saints and All Souls Day, including a special evening Zoom service of memory and prayer. (Details below.)

I need a little Easter right now, and I am drawing hope from the promise of God to make all things new. How about you?

Pastor Jennifer

Worship in the Sanctuary:
Updated Information

Even with the new Tier 2 restrictions in London, places of worship are allowed to open. We have carefully reviewed our protocols again, and they already exceed the COVID Secure guidelines required. Therefore, we plan to continue in person worship this Sunday. However, please consider your own personal risk assessment, and walk or cycle to avoid public transit if possible.

The decision to continue gathering will be reviewed weekly, based on attendance, local cases, staff safety and other factors. However, if London enters Tier 3 or a "circuit break" lockdown, we will not gather for in person worship until those restrictions are lifted.

Pre-registration is required, as there are a limited number of spaces available.

As of now, there is still plenty of room this Sunday. Online booking will remain open as long as spots are available, or until 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning. If you discover the form is closed, it means we have reached capacity. Please email, and we will be in touch if we have a cancellation and space becomes available.

Worship Online Anytime

Sunday Worship for October 25 will premiere on YouTube and Facebook at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, and be available anytime after. The sermon and liturgy will be the same as the in-person service, but the music will be from Jonathan Eyers, shared last Sunday in the sanctuary.

Last week's online service is available below. Pastor Jennifer contemplates the cross as a sign of hope, and Siobhain Gibson and Liam Dunachie bring the music.

Giving: Your generosity matters more than ever.

We know that many people are facing challenging financial circumstances. AIC is in a solid position to weather the loss of Latchcourt income, but we will be relying more than usual on gifts from the congregation to keep our ministries going, our staff supported and our income flowing. If you are in a position to do so, we would ask you to consider making a special gift to support the church at this time, or to pay your 2020 pledge now, rather than across the course of the year.

You may give via bank transfer with the following information:
Beneficiary: The American Church in London
Sort Code: 40-05-16
Account Number: 81651498
A note on technology:

Zoom is an online platform to host video chat. It is free to use, but may require you to download an app to your phone, tablet or laptop.

Facebook will also host all our videos, including worship, Pause for Prayer and children’s messages. You do not need to have a Facebook account to view them, only to comment or engage.

AIC now has a YouTube channel. Subscribe or visit anytime for the latest worship services, pause for prayer moments, children’s messages and more.
