THIS WEEK AT AIC

Dear <<First Name>>,

Throughout Advent, we lit candles in anticipation of the light of Christ coming at Christmas. Now that Christmas has come (not gone yet, not until the arrival of the wise men on Epiphany on January 6), we celebrate the Christ-light in the world.

As 2020 comes to a close, it may still feel difficult to see the light shining. As the virus spreads, those of us in London are required to stay at home, and church remains online only for foreseeable future.

I take comfort in remembering that the wise men travelled to meet Jesus by following a star. That means they they travelled at night: in the dark, unable to see clearly, surrounded by shadows.

God leads us when the night seems long and the shadows deep. God's starlight shines when other lights have dimmed. The Christ-light shines on us, even now.

Faithfully,
Pastor Jennifer

Sunday Worship
Our Sunday Worship will be online only, debuting on YouTube at 11:00 Sunday morning. We'll have music from the choir (recorded Christmas Eve) and a message on Epiphany from Pastor Jared.

We will also be sharing Epiphany Star Words again this year--by post! If you would like us to choose a word for you or words for your whole household, please email one of your ministers or info@amchurch.co.uk.

For more details on any of the opportunities below, contact Community Minister Jonathan Miller at jonathan@amchurch.co.uk.

Cold Weather Shelter: After much work to secure a permanent venue near Euston, the shelter season began on 14 December! AIC will be covering Wednesday evenings to Thursday afternoon from 3 February, and more details on how to get involved will be available in the coming weeks -- contact Jonathan to ensure you are on the mailing list. You can also give directly to C4WS Homeless Project in order to support this year's extra costs: https://c4wshomelessproject.org/donate-money.

West End Welcome Refugee Sponsorship: Now that the sisters we are sponsoring have been in English classes for several months, they are looking for conversation partners! If you would be interested in spending 30 minutes to an hour conversing over Zoom once every few weeks, get in touch.

Become a Vaccinator Volunteer: The Royal Volunteer Service in partnership with St John Ambulance are looking for volunteers to support the large-scale COVID-19 vaccination program that will be rolled-out over the next few months. More details can be found here: https://nhsvolunteerresponders.org.uk/vaccinationvolunteers
Giving: Your generosity matters more than ever.

As we come to the end of this challenging year, we are more grateful than ever for the generosity of our AIC community, which has seen us through. The first few months of 2021 will remain difficult, and we ask you, if you are able, to consider making an end-of-year gift to keep our ministries thriving. In addition, as we prepare our 2021 budget, we would appreciate it if you would take a few minutes to let us know of your plans for giving in the coming year, with this simple form

You may give via bank transfer with the following information:
