Dear <<First Name>>,

Across the world, the integrity of our sources of news and information, our political leaders, our celebrities, even religious leaders have been called into question. Traditional social institutions seem untrustworthy as well. Who can you trust these days?

This week, our story from Elijah poses exactly that question, in dramatic fashion. Elijah faces off against the competing prophets of another God and says, "Who can you trust, Yahweh or Baal?"

Spoiler alert: The answer is God, who hears Elijah's prayer and answers him. It's God you can trust.

You knew that already, though, didn't you? Yet somehow we still struggle to trust God over ourselves, over our own endeavours and even the institutions of this world.

Sunday, we'll talk more about that struggle to trust God, together. Join us.

Stuart Tower Tour
In addition to the manse, the church also owns a flat in Maida Vale, where Jonathan Miller currently resides. After a water leak, the Council has approved a significant overhaul of the flat. If you’ve never visited, Jonathan invites everyone to a “before” gathering on Sunday, October 13 after worship to see its current state—to be followed by an “after” gathering to show the completed works in the new year.
