Dear <<First Name>>,

In spite of the order of our name, our church community is far more "International" than "American." Yet in the month of November, we all get swept up in the American Thanksgiving celebrations, with festive services, a traditional lunch and service at St. Paul's Cathedral. (See below for all the details.)

Giving thanks is something that should always unite us across lines of nation and culture, as it reminds us that we all owe our lives to the gift and grace of God. The breath of life, the fruit of the earth, the love we share--all flow out from the Creator's love.

When we pause to give thanks and acknowledge God's gifts, we set our lives right with relationships to God, one another, and the world around us. We find joy and delight in unexpected places, and hope even in suffering.

Thanksgiving is the perfect time of year to invite friends and neighbours to come along with you to church, to share that joy and abundance. If you are not yet ready to return onsite, you can watch online on Monday.

Reserved Seats at St. Paul's
Members of the AIC community and their families/friends can reserve seats at the front, under the dome. These are not individual reservations, but admission to a reserved section at the front. However, we need to notify St. Paul's with a final number of seats needed.

If you would like to sit in the reserved section, please send an email to with your name and the number of seats you will need.

Admission to the service is free, with no reservation required, and we do not expect to reach capacity. So, please come even if you do not reserve a seat, There will be room in the main body of the cathedral for all who wish to attend.

Invite friends, neighbours and families to join as well!

Let Us Give Thanks

All Church Thanksgiving Lunch
Sunday 21 November 2021, after worship
Once again, we will gather together.  We hope you will join us downstairs after the service.  The most important aspects of giving thanks and enjoying fellowship together are still in place.  But, to be as Covid-safe as possible, we will make a few changes.

Please do not bring any food to share.*  Instead, Josh and Elodie will bless us with their wonderful cooking of turkey and all the side dishes.  All people involved in preparation will take home tests in advance.

We ask all those planning to attend to take a home test that morning if you are able.  We will be unmasked for most of our time together while we eat and drink, but ask all to wear masks when standing or walking around the room.

We will make multiple changes to how we serve food and tidy up afterwards.  We are counting on your help during the meal and after. Please be in touch with Nicole Joffe if you can serve or clean up.
For anyone who does not feel ready to stay through an unmasked meal, please join us for the blessing while we are all still wearing masks.

For those who are able, we ask for a contribution.  Our recommendation is £5 per person 12 and older.

Because we are providing all the food, reservations are strongly encouraged. Please email with the number of people in your group who plan to attend.
* Vegetarian options will be available.  However, if you have any other  special dietary needs (e.g.:  vegan, gluten-free) we ask you to bring food for yourself only.
