Dear <<First Name>>,

If any of us questioned the need for a community of friends and family, we certainly don’t anymore!

I have heard stories from many of our AIC family and my friends outside the church about the many ways that a simple conversation in the park, a gift dropped on a doorstep, or a Zoom gathering became a lifeline in a moment that was otherwise overwhelming.

This is why our fellowship, our shared prayer requests, and our voices lifted together in worship are such an important part of our life of faith together as a church. Our presence together can bring healing to our souls, and the people around us can help us draw closer to God. Because the truth is that we come together to carry each other through difficult times as we carry each other to God.

In worship this Sunday we are going to read the story of Jesus healing “Blind Bartimaeus” as he journeyed through Jericho. And it’s easy to point to a community that failed Bartimaeus as they tried to quiet him from calling out to Jesus. But in the end, those same people carried him to Jesus where he would find salvation. And we’re left wondering if just maybe his healing brought salvation to the community around him.

Join us in worship this week as we call out to Jesus together. We need each other in worship, even if it’s across broadband fibres and long distances. Together we just might find healing in Jesus’ presence.

Pastor Jared

Join us on Sundays at 11:00 a.m. Choir and children's message return, communion will be served, and we will be able to sing together throughout the service.

Reminder of our COVID protocols:
  1. Face coverings over the nose and mouth are required to attend worship.
  2. Pews are marked with signage and lines indicating 1m social distance, so that it is easy to choose a seat that maintains appropriate space.
  3. Sign-in is now optional, using either the NHS app or paper sign-in sheet.
  4. All are required to use hand sanitizer upon entry to the building.
  5. Fellowship time remains outside, as outdoor gathering is much safer than indoors.

Conversations on Marriage, Gender & Sexuality

At our AGM on 26 September, the Council asked for your feedback to begin a conversation about diversity & inclusion, specifically about the topic of equal marriage. We have heard from you, and we thank you for your input! Based on your responses, the following spaces will be available to engage with this discussion:

  • The continuing study of The Book of Queer Prophets as part of the Becoming Antiracist, Being Inclusive group. This group has been studying various aspects of inclusion for some time, and welcomes new voices to join reading the current book. Wednesdays fortnightly on Zoom, 6:00-7:00 p.m.

  • Bible study in the month of November. Our regular Zoom Bible study at 9:00 on Sundays will spend the 4 weeks of November studying scriptures about sexuality, marriage, and our identity in Christ. Sundays at 9:00 on Zoom.

  • A panel discussion forum on 14 November. Following the worship service that Sunday, Pastor Jennifer will lead a discussion with a panel of people to start the conversation and answer questions. There will be an opportunity to submit anonymous questions to the panel. All are welcome to attend. Sunday 14 November in the Sanctuary.

Are there other ways you want to engage with our community in this discussion? Please contact Elodie Lasserre, Jared Jaggers, or Jonathan Miller if you would like to help plan these conversations or to let us know how you would like to participate. Email for more information.

  • Our children ages 4-9 are welcome as part of our worshiping community, with a special place for them to worship through creativity and play in our PrayGround.
  • Children 10+ are encouraged to sit with their family and join in worship.
  • 24 October – Our next youth activities 12:30-14:00; continuing the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month. Lunch will be provided with activities and a lesson. All children and youth are welcome. Location in the AIC building, pick up at 14:00.

We hope to see you and your children soon!
