Dear <<First Name>>,

This week's song, chosen by Mary Parent, is "Let There Be Peace on Earth."

I am always struck by the line that follows: "And let it begin with me." That line is repeated again at the very end. Let peace begin with me.

When we pray for peace, it often seems like some distant, impossible, faraway dream. The song places peace right into our hands and in our lives, reminding us that peace begins with our daily interactions with our neighbours.

Not surprisingly, the message of Jesus says the same thing. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus blesses the peacemakers, then later goes on to give specific instructions about turning the other cheek, going the extra mile and even loving our enemies. Peace begins with you and me.

Join us on Sunday to sing of peace, pray for peace, and hear a message of peace.

Sunday Worship – 31 July
If you couldn't join us onsite, then catch up online.
Attend Onsite or Online
Onsite: COVID guidelines have been updated. Face coverings are strongly recommended in worship.
OnlineLivestreaming Sunday mornings at 11:00 GMT on our YouTube channel. A link will also be posted to our Facebook page.
Worship Leaders
We are looking for members of the congregation to help in worship leadership, either by reading scripture or sharing the News of the Church and offering. Sharing these important roles helps make our worship more inclusive and diverse, and brings new ideas and perspectives. Don't worry: your ministry team will answer any questions and provide the details as long as you are willing to lead. Be in touch with Jared to sign up.
Unfortunately, the Creche will not be open during the month of August. Our regular childminders are unavailable due to the summer holidays, but we will be open again in September. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Children of all ages are always welcome to join us in the sanctuary on Sunday mornings.
Inclusion Update
At our AGM in March, we shared our new welcome statement and took a first step towards being a more inclusive, welcoming congregation by voting to become an equal marriage congregation. After gathering signatures and submitting all of the necessary paperwork, we are excited to share that the General Register Office has finally approved our application to host both same-sex and opposite-sex weddings, with both Pastors Jennifer and Jared authorised to officiate.

We will next be working to draft a new weddings policy to help us better engage with those around us who may want to connect with the church because of this move. We are also working on scoping access and eco audits as a step towards ensuring our physical building is open and welcoming to all.

Get in touch with if you would like more details on that process, and look for more details to come in the autumn.
