Dear <<First Name>>,

It has been a fraught week around the world. COVID-19 is on the rise, the US election remains tense and undecided, the UK has returned to strict lockdown measures, and hurricanes and typhoons have hit hard in Nicaragua and the Philippines. We need God's presence. We need one another.

Unfortunately, the newest lockdown measures require that we suspend all in-person worship services for the duration.

However, we are not cut off from God, nor from one another. We have learned how to connect and worship online, and all of that will continue. We have been hearing about resurrection resilience, and that theme abides, even as we mark Remembrance Sunday this weekend.

Last Sunday, our choir gathered for the first time since March. It was bittersweet: full of joy at singing at last, full of sorrow knowing it would only be for one Sunday. However, just that one glimpse of music together brought our sanctuary to life, and worked in the hearts of all those gathered. It was something we used to take for granted, but now savoured. One small taste of it felt like enough to sustain us through the coming month.

If you weren't there on Sunday, you did not miss out--as they made some recordings and those will be shared starting this week in our online services. I pray that they offer you a ray of hope and a reminder of resurrection resilience.

Please note the revised Sunday schedule during lockdown. Bible Study at 9:45, Worship premiers at 11:00, Virtual Fellowship at 11:45.

Pastor Jennifer

Giving: Your generosity matters more than ever.

We know that many people are facing challenging financial circumstances. AIC is in a solid position to weather the loss of Latchcourt income, but we will be relying more than usual on gifts from the congregation to keep our ministries going, our staff supported and our income flowing. If you are in a position to do so, we would ask you to consider making a special gift to support the church at this time, or to pay your 2020 pledge now, rather than across the course of the year.

You may give via bank transfer with the following information:
Beneficiary: The American Church in London
Sort Code: 40-05-16
Account Number: 81651498
A note on technology:

Zoom is an online platform to host video chat. It is free to use, but may require you to download an app to your phone, tablet or laptop.

Facebook will also host all our videos, including worship, Pause for Prayer and children’s messages. You do not need to have a Facebook account to view them, only to comment or engage.

AIC now has a YouTube channel. Subscribe or visit anytime for the latest worship services, pause for prayer moments, children’s messages and more.
