Dear <<First Name>>,

Our look at the songs of Advent from the first chapter of Luke's gospel continues this week with Zechariah. Zechariah is the father of John the Baptist, mostly known for becoming mute during Elizabeth's entire pregnancy. When God finally releases him to speak, he sings a song of blessing.

Zechariah's song has me thinking about blessing. What does it mean to bless something or someone? Does it confer power or protection, or is it just like saying 'good luck'? Who has the power to bless, and do you have to be good to receive a blessing?

Join us on Sunday, and you too will have the opportunity to be blessed--by our music and worship, by partaking in communion, and even by one of your ministers, if you choose.

Pastor Jennifer

COVID Update
AIC's leadership team is watching carefully and cautiously the news about the new COVID variant. As of now, our current protocols are sufficient to meet and exceed all the government recommendations. Please continue to wear your face covering for worship, sanitize hands upon arrival, and stay home to participate online if you are unwell with any COVID symptoms. If there are changes in the coming weeks, this weekly email will contain all the details.

Scam Warning
Your ministers, church staff and lay leadership will NEVER contact you directly to request money or gift cards. If you receive such a request via email, text or social media, please DO NOT reply. Instead, notify us directly, then report and block the sender. Unfortunately, criminals are attempting to using church websites to try to fraudulently collect donations. If you ever receive a request from AIC that is not from an "amchurch" address, please assume it is fake.
