Dear <<First Name>>,

Although we will not be gathering in person on Sunday, we will be the church gathered in heart, in spirit--and online! The livestream details are below.

The news this week is relentless, as the COVID-19 virus impacts nearly every aspect of our lives. In my heart, I crave some good news, hope and constancy.

Thank goodness for the Messiah, who delivers all those things. Jesus is the good news, bringing us grace and salvation. Christ is our hope, the promise of resurrection and redemption. God is our constant, the one whose steadfast love never ceases and faithfulness never comes to an end.

I hope you can join us online on Sunday to hear more of this good news, but, if not, we remain bound together as the Body of Christ, sustained in the love of God, and surrounded by the peace of the Spirit.

Pastor Jennifer

All in-person events and activities at AIC remain cancelled.

See below for information on how we continue worship, the Soup Kitchen, Cold Weather Shelter and other ministries.

Sunday Worship Livestream

Though we will not physically gather this Sunday, we will be together in spirit and in solidarity with each other. None of us are alone in our distance, and we can take hope in our God that unites us all.

Join us at 11:00 am GMT on 22 March on our Facebook page:

You do not need to have a Facebook account to watch--just click the link above.

Unless government restrictions change, our choir section leaders and Scott will be singing (with appropriate social distance!) from Handel's Messiah in the sanctuary with Pastor Jennifer and Jonathan leading worship and prayers. The sermon will be streamed from Jared's flat while he is self-isolating, so there will be a brief break between two livestream videos.

Technical issues from last week should be resolved, so enjoy the correctly oriented video and audio of worship. The bulletin will be posted here before Sunday morning so that you can follow and sing along from home.

The videos will remain at the link for one week if you need to watch later or from another time zone.

The Soup Kitchen

The Soup Kitchen remains open with takeaway service only. This week, numbers have increased as other programs and places have had to close their doors. Our intention is to continue serving daily meals until government restrictions require us to stop.

Local restaurants emptying ahead of closure have filled our stores, but volunteers and cash donations are greatly appreciated--along with your prayers for all of our guests and those serving them.
Cold Weather Shelter

The Cold Weather Shelter is due to close for the season on March 31, and plans are urgently underway to find housing for the remaining seven guests as soon as possible.

AIC hosted our regular night on Wednesday, and we are hosting an additional night tonight for another church that needed to cancel. We are grateful to Jonathan Miller and the volunteers who stepped forward to make this possible.

We are still tentatively scheduled to host our final shelter night on Wednesday, March 25, but please stay tuned for confirmation.  Contact to volunteer if needed.

Please pray for all our guests to find more permanent accommodation urgently.
Read the Annual Report!
Our Annual General Meeting has been postponed until further notice, but the Annual Report is ready. Take some time to read through all the ways we learned and grew as a church in 2019.

Read the report here.

Please note: there is a draft 2020 budget included, but it was prepared before the COVID-19 outbreak. We expect significant changes, and the Council will share details in the coming weeks.
