Dear <<First Name>>,

Jared spoke in our worship service last Sunday about resurrection for the living, a powerful encouragement about the renewal of the dry bones of our lives and spirits. (Watch here.) This week, we think beyond our lives now, to the life beyond this life.

This Sunday is All Saints Day, when the Christian church pauses to remember and give thanks for all those who have gone before us, and to remember that God promises us eternal life.

In this year when so many lives have been lost, it will be important to acknowledge our grief, but also hold on to hope. We will do so in our prayer time in our online and in-person Sunday services, but also in an additional All Saints gathering via Zoom. You can find the details below.

Speaking of hope, I have good news to share: we have done the risk assessment and planning to have our choir back in worship again, starting this Sunday! Scott Stroman will be leading, and our singers singing. Unfortunately, the congregation will not be allowed to sing along, but we can receive the gift of music they provide.

Worship in the Sanctuary

Even with the new Tier 2 restrictions in London, places of worship are allowed to open. We have carefully reviewed our protocols again, and they already exceed the COVID Secure guidelines required. Therefore, we plan to continue in person worship this Sunday. However, please consider your own personal risk assessment, and walk or cycle to avoid public transit if possible.

The decision to continue gathering will be reviewed weekly, based on attendance, local cases, staff safety and other factors. However, if London enters Tier 3 or a "circuit break" lockdown, we will not gather for in person worship until those restrictions are lifted.

Pre-registration is required, as there are a limited number of spaces available.

As of now, there is still plenty of room this Sunday. Online booking will remain open as long as spots are available, or until 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning. If you discover the form is closed, it means we have reached capacity. Please email, and we will be in touch if we have a cancellation and space becomes available.

Worship Online Anytime

Sunday Worship for November 1 will premiere on YouTube and Facebook at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, and be available anytime after. You'll have to wait one more week to hear the choir, but Joanna Davies will bring the music and the sermon and liturgy will be the same as the in person service.

Last week's online service is available below. Pastor Jared speaks of resurrection for the living, and Jonathan Eyers brings the music.
Choir Returning!

Scott Stroman has returned from furlough, and he will be leading our choir to make music again starting this Sunday, 1 November. Risk assessments are in place conforming to government guidelines, as well as music professional association guidance.

The choir will rehearse from 9:30-10:30, lead us in worship at 11, then stay to make recordings for the following Sunday. Newcomers are welcome, but please reach out to Scott ahead of time at for the details of the new COVID secure protocols. Also, pre-registration is required for choir, but you do not also need to register for Sunday worship if you have signed up to sing.

Giving: Your generosity matters more than ever.

We know that many people are facing challenging financial circumstances. AIC is in a solid position to weather the loss of Latchcourt income, but we will be relying more than usual on gifts from the congregation to keep our ministries going, our staff supported and our income flowing. If you are in a position to do so, we would ask you to consider making a special gift to support the church at this time, or to pay your 2020 pledge now, rather than across the course of the year.

You may give via bank transfer with the following information:
Beneficiary: The American Church in London
Sort Code: 40-05-16
Account Number: 81651498
A note on technology:

Zoom is an online platform to host video chat. It is free to use, but may require you to download an app to your phone, tablet or laptop.

Facebook will also host all our videos, including worship, Pause for Prayer and children’s messages. You do not need to have a Facebook account to view them, only to comment or engage.

AIC now has a YouTube channel. Subscribe or visit anytime for the latest worship services, pause for prayer moments, children’s messages and more.
