Dear <<First Name>>,

This evening begins the Triduum, the three days that culminate Jesus' earthly journey with us and the holiest days in the Christian year.

We begin tonight at sunset with Maundy Thursday, when Jesus gathered with his disciples for the Passover meal. At the table, he lifted bread and cup and said: "This is my body. This is my blood. Eat and drink in remembrance of me."

After supper, they went out to the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus knelt in prayer until Judas the betrayer arrived with soldiers who arrested him.

Throughout the night and early morning Friday, he endured beatings, taunts and humiliation before a sham trial. The crowds turned against him and demanded his crucifixion.

He was crucified, died, and buried by sunset on Friday evening.

On Saturday, silence.

Then Sunday, before dawn, the women go to the tomb, and the true story of Jesus begins to become clear.

During this Triduum, I hope those of you who are here in London will join us for worship on Maundy Thursday at 7:00, Good Friday at 4:00 and Easter at 11:00. For the many of you travelling and spending time with family, I hope you worship wherever you are. Consider taking time to read the story of Jesus' passion and resurrection. We'll be reading at AIC from Luke's Gospel, chapters 22-24

May you journey with Jesus this week as he has journeyed with us, to bear with us in suffering and provide hope in the resurrection.

Pastor Jennifer

EASTER WEEKEND UPDATE: Traffic pattern changes are scheduled for this weekend. Tottenham Court Road will be open to two-way traffic, so look carefully when crossing the street.

Pavement works continue in front of the church, so there is extensive fencing. The best way to approach is from Goodge Street. Expect barriers to be in place, sidewalks to be narrow, and access to be more complicated that usual, though the church will remain open throughout the works.

The bus stop has temporarily relocated in front of Caffe Nero next door, but patterns continue to change. Public transportation remains the best way to access the church during the road works.
