THIS WEEK AT AIC
View this email in your browser
Dear <<First Name>>,

Last Sunday during in-person worship, Nick Allen sang a gospel tune called, "I Feel Like Going On." Those of you watching online will get to hear it this week. It moves at a slow, walking pace down the scale, like putting one foot in front of the other, as he sings, "Though trials may come, on every hand, I feel like going on."

I've been listening to that song for weeks, because the song itself creates the possibility, the fortitude to feel like going on. Just repeating the words, as an act of faith and praise, gives strength to face another day.

In the scriptures, the Psalms have the same kind of power. This week, we'll be looking to Psalm 37 for that same kind of strength, the way prayers and songs of praise to God can encourage us and provide the new life that is resurrection resilience.

Faithfully,
Pastor Jennifer

SCAM ALERT: There is an email scam targeting churches across the world, and it has reached our AIC community. If you receive an email from any of our ministers asking you to purchase gift vouchers urgently or secretly, this is a scam. We will never make this kind of request. Always check the sender's email, which will reveal a false address under our name. Please forward a copy to us, and make a report to your email provider. All legitimate communication from AIC will have an email address ending "amchurch.co.uk."
WORSHIP
Worship in the Sanctuary on Sundays: Book Your Pew!

With many COVID Secure protocols in place, we plan to continue in person worship. Please consider your own personal risk assessment and use of public transport as you make the choice that is right for you. The decision to continue gathering will be reviewed weekly.

We have made some additional changes to add even more precautions, including encouraging mask-wearing outdoors  on the pavement.

Pre-registration is required, as there are a limited number of spaces available.

As of now, there is still plenty of room this Sunday. Online booking will remain open as long as spots are available, or until 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning. If you discover the form is closed, it means we have reached capacity. Please email info@amchurch.co.uk, and we will be in touch if we have a cancellation and space becomes available.

SERVE & GIVE
Support for Vulnerable People in Lockdown

If you are not considered vulnerable, are able to travel without using public transit, and would be willing to help someone who might need delivery of groceries, medicine or other items, please contact jonathan@amchurch.co.uk.

Giving: Your generosity matters more than ever.

We know that many people are facing challenging financial circumstances. AIC is in a solid position to weather the loss of Latchcourt income, but we will be relying more than usual on gifts from the congregation to keep our ministries going, our staff supported and our income flowing. If you are in a position to do so, we would ask you to consider making a special gift to support the church at this time, or to pay your 2020 pledge now, rather than across the course of the year.

You may give via bank transfer with the following information:
Beneficiary: The American Church in London
Sort Code: 40-05-16
Account Number: 81651498
A note on technology:

Zoom is an online platform to host video chat. It is free to use, but may require you to download an app to your phone, tablet or laptop.

Facebook will also host all our videos, including worship, Pause for Prayer and children’s messages. You do not need to have a Facebook account to view them, only to comment or engage.

AIC now has a YouTube channel. Subscribe or visit anytime for the latest worship services, pause for prayer moments, children’s messages and more.
