Dear <<First Name>>,

Christmas blessings to you and yours! This is the season of God-With-Us, as we celebrate the birth of the Christ child at Christmas.

I am pleased to share that we will plan to gather BOTH onsite and online for all our Christmas services this year--including Christmas Eve, Bach Sing on Boxing Day and Epiphany.

We expect smaller crowds for our onsite services, and believe our protocols will make us all as safe as possible to gather for worship. In addition to the requirements for face coverings, we are asking everyone to conduct a home lateral flow test before coming to services, to do our best to prevent asymptomatic transmission between one another. We will not be checking at the door, but ask you to please take this step to protect the vulnerable among us.

Our online options will increase as well. Thanks to an internet upgrade that has taken countless hours and more than four years of effort, we will be able to LIVESTREAM our Christmas services, so those at home can be united in Spirit and prayer with those at home. For Boxing Day and the following Sundays, we will still offer an edited version for those in other time zones. All the details are below. (Enormous thanks to Robin and Michael Brantley for exceptional effort to make this internet upgrade possible.)

Whether onsite or online, we can gather across London and across the world to praise God and give thanks for the birth of Jesus, the light of the world.

Finally, if you have found your plans cancelled and you are suddenly isolating for the holiday period, please do not hesitate to reach out to your ministry team. We will call or text to pray with you, or help organize a delivery of supplies if needed. While we will be taking some time off in turns, there will always be at least one minister available to respond. Our contact details are below.

Attend Onsite -- COVID Updates

We encourage each of you to consider your own personal risk in deciding to come to worship, especially in light of the increased transmission of the Omicron variant.

We require:
  • Everyone to wear a face covering at all times indoors.
  • Everyone to use hand sanitizer upon arrival.
  • Anyone with COVID symptoms to stay home.
We strongly encourage:
  • Everyone to take a home lateral flow test (free from the NHS) prior to coming to worship. (Our ministry team already does this.)
  • Everyone to get their vaccines and boosters as soon as possible.
  • Everyone to avoid socializing indoors, chatting instead outside before and after the worship service.
Please note: the sanctuary will not open until 15 minutes prior to the start of the service, to allow ventilation between choir rehearsal and worship.
Attend Online -- New options!

Livestreaming now available!
  • Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, and Epiphany services will be available to livestream via our YouTube channel. A link will also be posted to our Facebook page.
  • Livestream will begin at the same time as the onsite service (18:00 GMT for Christmas Eve, 11:00 GMT for Sunday mornings).
  • Unlike our regular videos, the livestream will only offer the camera angle from the balcony, and will not include the words for prayers and scriptures.
Post-Worship Videos continue on YouTube.
  • For those who are in other time zones, traveling or looking to catch up from a missed Sunday, our shorter-form online videos will continue to be edited and posted. During the Christmas period, they will be available midweek instead of Mondays.
  • These edited versions of worship will keep their shorter format, with camera angles that allow you to see faces of worship leaders more closely and the words of scripture and prayer on the screen.
  • Everyone to avoid socializing indoors, chatting instead outside before and after the worship service.
The livestream version will remain available until the edited post-worship version is available, after which it will be removed.

This is our current plan through January 15, though we will adjust sooner if restrictions are imposed.

Sunday Worship from 19 December
Year-End Gifts and 2022 Pledges

We are reaching the end of our fiscal year, and facing a deficit. At the same time, we are planning our ministry for 2022. Can you help us with a year-end gift for 2021, and a commitment to give in 2022?

You can read more in letters from Assistant Treasurer Serge Ramin and Pastor Jennifer, sent in recent weeks. Make a 2022 commitment via this link.
Giving: Your generosity matters more than ever.

This year remains difficult in many ways, and we ask you, if you are able, to consider making a gift to keep our ministries thriving.
