Dear <<First Name>>,

Our series on Elijah comes to an end this week, as we hear the story of the end of his life and his ascent to heaven--alongside Elisha, to whom he hands over the mantle of his ministry. This story promises God will safely see Elijah into heaven, and shows Elisha's grief mixed with hope and opportunity.

For us, the story falls alongside All Saints and All Souls day, which invites us to also to remember those who have gone ahead of us to heaven, to remember God's promises to see us safely through the end of this life, and contemplate the legacy of faith we will leave to those who follow.

On Sunday, our Communion service will include time to light candles and name those we have loved and lost, but it will also point us forward into the future, encouraging us in faith to imagine the gifts we can bequeath to those who follow us.

Is AIC your church home? Become a member!

If you have been worshiping with AIC for awhile and consider it to be your church home, we would prayerfully ask you to contemplate membership. We will be organizing groups to join on Sundays, October 27 and November 17, and we would love to welcome you. There will be a luncheon meeting on November 10 to learn more, or you can reach out to Pastor Jennifer at to learn more about what membership means.
