Dear <<First Name>>,

November is the busiest--and (I think) best--season of the year at the American International Church. I want to go around shouting: "Come! Every week! Don't miss out!"

This message is overfull with news and information about all the ways for you to participate. Take a look especially at details about Thanksgiving. Lunch is ON, but different! St. Paul's is ON, and the same!

Before we get to all of that, we have another special Sunday this week. We will open the service with a Remembrance Sunday commemoration and two minutes silence promptly at 11, so please plan to arrive on time.

We will have a special guest-who-is-not-a-guest with us as well. The Rev. Dr. John Bradbury joined AIC in the summer of 2020, and you may have seen him singing in the choir. He also happens to be the General Secretary of the United Reformed Church, the denomination to which we belong. This Sunday, he will be preaching for us about finding hope even when it feels like the world is ending. After worship, he will join me for a discussion forum on marriage, sexuality and gender. He brings a wider picture of how these conversations are taking place throughout the church, why they matter and how they have impacted the life and ministry of other churches.

Come! Every week! Don't miss out! You don't want to miss a Sunday at AIC in November, but if you do, you can always catch up with us on YouTube.

Pastor Jennifer

Join us on Sundays at 11:00 a.m. Choir and children's message return, communion will be served, and we will be able to sing together throughout the service. Face coverings are still required indoors, and social distancing observed as much as possible.

If you missed us last week or are not ready to return in person yet, our online service will be posted to YouTube on Mondays. You can watch last week's below.

Reserved Seats at St. Paul's
Members of the AIC community and their families/friends can reserve seats at the front, under the dome. These are not individual reservations, but admission to a reserved section at the front. However, we need to notify St. Paul's with a final number of seats needed.

If you would like to sit in the reserved section, please send an email to with your name and the number of seats you will need.

Admission to the service is free, with no reservation required, and we do not expect to reach capacity. So, please come even if you do not reserve a seat, There will be room in the main body of the cathedral for all who wish to attend.

Invite friends, neighbours and families to join as well!

Let Us Give Thanks

All Church Thanksgiving Lunch
Sunday 21 November 2021, after worship
Once again, we will gather together.  We hope you will join us downstairs after the service.  The most important aspects of giving thanks and enjoying fellowship together are still in place.  But, to be as Covid-safe as possible, we will make a few changes.

Please do not bring any food to share.*  Instead, Josh and Elodie will bless us with their wonderful cooking of turkey and all the side dishes.  All people involved in preparation will take home tests in advance.

We ask all those planning to attend to take a home test that morning if you are able.  We will be unmasked for most of our time together while we eat and drink, but ask all to wear masks when standing or walking around the room.

We will make multiple changes to how we serve food and tidy up afterwards.  We are counting on your help during the meal and after. Please be in touch with Nicole Joffe if you can serve or clean up.
For anyone who does not feel ready to stay through an unmasked meal, please join us for the blessing while we are all still wearing masks.

For those who are able, we ask for a contribution.  Our recommendation is £5 per person 12 and older.

Because we are providing all the food, reservations are strongly encouraged. Please email with the number of people in your group who plan to attend.
* Vegetarian options will be available.  However, if you have any other  special dietary needs (e.g.:  vegan, gluten-free) we ask you to bring food for yourself only.

At our AGM on 26 September, the Council asked for your feedback to begin a conversation about diversity & inclusion, specifically about the topic of equal marriage. We will be offering the programs below based on your input.

Are there other ways you want to engage with our community in this discussion? Please contact Elodie Lasserre, Jared Jaggers, or Jonathan Miller if you would like to help plan these conversations or to let us know how you would like to participate. Email for more information.
