Dear <<First Name>>,

What does it mean to be blessed? Is it the same as being lucky or successful?

Jesus' words in the Beatitudes ("Blessed are the poor, blessed are the meek") imply blessedness is about something else, perhaps that blessedness is about God's faithfulness more than our own circumstances.

Join us on Sunday to consider what it means to be blessed by God. We're inspired and encouraged this week by Cynthia Toney's favourite hymn, which says "I am blessed, I am blessed, every day of my life I am blessed. When I wake up in the morning, 'til I lay my head to rest, I am blessed, I am blessed."

Sunday Worship – 17 July
If you couldn't join us onsite, then catch up online.
Attend Onsite or Online
Onsite: COVID guidelines have been updated. Face coverings are strongly recommended in worship.
OnlineLivestreaming Sunday mornings at 11:00 GMT on our YouTube channel. A link will also be posted to our Facebook page.
Summer Choir
During July, we will have a summer choir that rehearses at 10:15 on Sunday mornings to sing during the 11:00 service. It is open to newcomers and volunteers, whether you join for one Sunday or the whole month. Just show up, or sign up here.
Worship Leaders
We are looking for members of the congregation to help in worship leadership, either by reading scripture or sharing the News of the Church and offering. Sharing these important roles helps make our worship more inclusive and diverse, and brings new ideas and perspectives. Don't worry: your ministry team will answer any questions and provide the details as long as you are willing to lead. Be in touch with Jared to sign up.
In the month of July we are studying a series entitled, The Afterlife: Scripture and Tradition. Newcomers are always welcome to join us for open, expansive conversation on the ancient scriptures and what they mean for our faith today.

Good News Story
We were delighted to walk into the office late last week to find 50 brand new Google Pixel smartphones, courtesy of Camden Giving!

After successfully applying for the Equality Fund grant, Jonathan received an email about an offer of phones for "disadvantaged communities over the age of 13" and immediately thought of our cold weather shelter and soup kitchen guests. He forwarded the information, and Alex Brown of the Soup Kitchen put in an application. The phones arrived just a short time later, and there is planning underway for how to get them to those who need them.

When living on the streets or in precarious accommodation, a phone is often a person's only permanent connection to friends and family, and it is a vital tool to stay updated and to begin the journey of getting back into a more stable condition. These phones will provide that lifeline to many.

Congratulations to Alex and The Soup Kitchen team for making a successful bid, and thank you to Camden Giving and Jonathan for making the connection possible.
