September 2019 Update

Your monthly update from the DYW West team.
Invest in Renfrewshire Jobs Fair

On September 4th we partnered with Invest in Renfrewshire and a number of other groups for a Jobs Fair, held in the Paisley Lagoon Centre, which posed over 500 jobs available from the employers that were present on the day.
We were there to offer CV tips and interview advice as well as a number of apprenticeship opportunities that were available locally, if you want to see more about what happened on the day, check out our Instagram page!

Greenpower Teams Return

DYW West are excited for the Greenpower season to return and we already have our groups back in the college! We're looking forward to see where this year takes our teams and will keep you updated with their progress throughout the season!
We'd like to take this opportunity to wish Inverclyde Academy's Inver Racers all the best for the International Final at Silverstone, you can make a donation here.

STEM West returns for 2019
On the 25th & 26th of November, STEM West will be held at West College Scotland Clydebank Campus for its 3rd year with over 600 pupils attending. We’d like to invite employers from STEM related industries to inspire the future workforce in a fun and interactive way. If you think your business can offer this, please get in touch with!
Inverclyde Jobs Fair
Join us at the Inverclyde Jobs fair on Thursday 3rd October, between 10am-1pm at Greenock Town Hall! Employers like NetworkRail, BBC Scotland, Rolls-Royce and more will be there. So, why not come along for some employer engagement and talk to a potential future employer?
Could you offer a work placement?

DYW West are supporting West College Scotland by helping source employers who would be interested in offering a work placement to a Foundation Apprentice (FA) student. This would be only one day per week,  from Sep/Oct to May and could help a young person be better prepared for their future career. We are looking for engineering companies in particular to get involved. The young people are in 6th year at school. FA's are at the same level as Highers and recognised by all college and universities in Scotland. They are a great way of young people pursuing a qualification in a career they are interested in and get that much needed relevant work experience.

If you can help please get in touch by emailing
