West College Scotland Creative & Digital Media Placements
We are helping West College Scotland source employer placements for Foundation Apprenticeship students. Placements are typically a day a week during school term in 6th year. In particular, we need more employers in Creative & Digital Media (this doesn't need to be creative, it can be a marketing department in a business) in West Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire and Renfrewshire.

What are the benefits of a Foundation Apprenticeship?

• They're the same level as a Higher
• They involve learning about the industry and doing real work that they can evidence against the framework for their qualification
• They can act as a long interview and could lead to an employer offering them a job as a Modern or Graduate Apprentice
• The employer does not need to pay during the FA placement

They typically start after the summer (but can be earlier) and we're being asked to start conversations with industry now.

Hear from West College Scotland themselves:

"Are you an employer who would like to support a Creative and Digital Media Foundation Apprenticeship work placement? Placements start in September 2020 and last until the end of the term 2021, learners attend their placement one day per week. Working hours are flexible depending on business requirements. Could you offer a marketing role where a learner could work on digital marketing, creating and editing video content or even work within a local radio station? Could you offer a role where a leaner could assist in social media platforms and website content? The delivery of placements can be flexible to suit the needs of the employer. "

If you can support a Foundation Apprenticeship placement, please get in touch at info@dywwest.co.uk!
