In compliance with the “Stay at Home” order put in place by The City of Winston-Salem and the state of North Carolina, The Downtown Arts District Association (DADA) is officially announcing that the “DADA 1st Friday Gallery Hop” will not be held until the aforementioned regulations are lifted.
DADA, the producer and permit holder for the event, will not block the streets as is usual for the event and the DADA Office/Gallery located at 604-A Trade Street will not be open. Any alternate event being held is not official and is not the “DADA 1st Friday Gallery Hop” as held for the past 21 years by our non-profit.
DADA Hopes that those that love the Gallery Hop will support our DADA MEMBERS and The Arts District during the coming weeks by visiting their social media to check for virtual events, on-line Gallery exhibitions and other opportunities!
2020 DADA Members , without whose annual membership dues the Hop would not be possible!
To our wonderful DADA Members:
As artists, we may be uniquely accustomed to being alone as we work with our creative processes, SO let us make the best use of this challenged time by bringing our very best work into fruition! Paint, draw, compose, write, sculpt, fabricate, arrange, choreograph, film, photograph, edit, engrave, carve, chisel, rehearse, record, mix, CREATE!
THEN, when the The City of Winston-Salem’s “Downtown Arts District” Association is once again free to invite the public to visit, the “DADA 1st Friday Gallery Hop” will return as a Celebration of life “WHERE ART LIVES!”
Please keep DADA informed of any on-line, virtual events or other opportunities from your locations! Stay safe! Feel free to contact the Board & Officers as we all look forward to being together again in the not too distant future!
BE WHERE ART LIVES!
