Arts and Education Hop
 

DADA First Friday Gallery Hop
September 6, 2019 7-10 PM  

500 & 600 blocks of Trade & Sixth Streets Blocked

The Downtown Arts District Association (DADA) announces the September installment of their signature event “DADA 1st Friday Gallery Hop”, Arts and Education Hop. The September 6th event runs from 7-10pm and includes the street blocked areas on the 500 & 600 block of Trade and Sixth Street from Cherry to Liberty Streets.

Piedmont Opera and The Winston-Salem Youth Chorus will perform in front of the DADA Office on Trade Street shortly after 7PM. Demos by North Trade Street Arts Gallery Artists

Displays by The Arts Council of WS/FC, Piedmont Opera, W-S Youth Chorus 

POP UPS: Sayso Coffee, Ice Cream

New Gallery Exhibition Openings, Open Studios, Shop Collection Openings and DADA business location participation throughout the Arts District. Keep the party going at Fiddlin Fish after the Hop!
 

September 2019 Hop Schedule
 

6 PM - 500/600 block of N. Trade and Sixth Street from Cherry to Liberty closes for Hop. Other areas in Arts District are not blocked. 

7-10 PM - Hop Begins in the W-S Downtown Arts District

Streets reopen at 10:30 for regular traffic

The Gallery Hop Extensions will be in full swing.DADA Members in the 500, 600 and 700 block of Trade, Sixth Street, and the Gallery Hop extensions centered around Wise Man Brewing, Bookmarks and the Liberty Street Hop area will also be participating. Look for the DADA Members logo displayed and support our DADA Members! 


It's the September installment of the DADA 1st Friday Gallery Hop and you're invited!

Parking is available at the 6th and Cherry St. Deck for only $2.00! Free parking is also available along Liberty Street on a first come, first served basis. The W-S Downtown Arts District is waiting for you!

Steele Group Architects (SGA) Art Studio is happy to extend the show "Colors of My Ancestors" featuring abstract paintings by Norton Barnhill. The Winston-Salem artist transfers his emotions and memories to the canvas through the use of layered texture and color.
 

 
The art is on display and available for purchase during the DADA First Friday Gallery Hop September 6th, from 7:00pm-10:00pm, and during normal business hours until September 27th.

Studio 7, 204 W 6th St, will be hosting artist CK Thompson. Circa 1981 - artwork by C K Thompson will hang through September 20. Thompson's art expresses emotions and tells a story. Her use of mixed media combines fine art skills and graffiti.

Opening Sept 27, RUINED, a drama about survival and resilience in war torn Democratic Republic of the Congo. Join this all African-American cast as they transport you to the heart of a bar in a small mining village. Oktoberfest at Fiddlin Fish!

It's our favorite time of year again - Oktoberfest! Don your dirndls and let loose in your lederhosen, we're throwing a party to kick off Oktoberfest on Saturday, September 21! Join us for fresh soft pretzels and the best wurst in town, souvenir steins with traditional German style beers, and more! Traditional garb not required, but highly encouraged!
