(Select "View in Browser" for the best e-letter version)

The DADA 1st Friday Gallery Hop has officially “Gone to the Dogs!” for their June 7th event, 7-10 PM in the W-S Downtown Arts District.

Hop sponsor Mast General Store will have a special 2 hour kick off event beginning an hour before the Hop officially begins at 7PM!

From 6-8 PM Mast General will present an agility dog course, MSG doggie bandanas, doggie treats, Elite Canine with their therapy dogs and Thomas from Ruffwear.

The works of Melanie Troutman-Williams have been selected for the featured artist exhibition in the DADA Members Gallery at North Trade Street Arts located at 604-A N Trade Street. Melanie’s colorfully playful works on canvass are always a delight and her “Doggone” dog series is also carried by Art-O-Mat.

Coming in from out of town? There’s a great deal for you! It’s our DADA 1st Friday Getaway Package with The W-S Marriott and found on www.visitws.org

Discover Art & Family Fun at First Friday Gallery Hop in Winston-Salem
Home to the country's first arts council and University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA), it comes as no surprise that Winston-Salem celebrates our robust local arts scene. Attend DADA First Friday Gallery Hop and mingle with artists, view artist demos, live music, and more. Choose Winston-Salem Marriott for downtown where you're just two blocks from the Arts District and in walking distance of more than 120 restaurants, bars, and nightlife spots.

At 7:30 find your way to the 600 block of Trade and enjoy the UNCSA Community Music School Trombone Studio Ensemble.

Composed of middle and high school trombonists from across the triad, the CMS trombone studio ensemble is an opportunity for young trombonists to step into the spotlight and perform challenging pieces written for their instrument.

While the trombone is most often used in a supporting role in school ensembles, trombone choirs produce beautiful, sonorous sounds that span from somber and mpueditative to rollicking and joyful.   Repertoire for the June Gallery Hop performance includes works by Beethoven and Schumann, in addition to popular music.

The 2019 DADA First Friday Gallery Hop is sponsored in part by
The City of Winston-Salem, The Arts Council of W-S/FC, Mast General Store and the ARTC Theatre

Steele Group Architects (SGA) Art Studio is pleased to feature Proof + Disappearance, a collection of photographic artwork by Diana Greene. The images present scenes of women caught in the act of moving, marching, floating, coming or leaving.

Greene captures the paradox that photographs provide proof of what disappears. Movement is found in the still frame. The art will be on display and available for purchase during the DADA First Friday Gallery Hop June 7th, from 7:00pm-10:00pm and during normal business hours through the remainder of the month.
