DADA First Friday Gallery Hop
July 5, 2019 7-10 PM

500 & 600 blocks of Trade & Sixth Streets Blocked
(Select "View in Browser" for the best e-letter version)

What do the “DADA 1st Friday Gallery Hop” and pirates have in common?

To discover, get your compass and navigate to the Downtown Arts District in Winston-Salem on July 5 between 7-10 PM and find yourself knee deep in pirate antics.

Pirate Captain Mudbone and crew, along with their ship, will anchor on Trade Street with a possible mermaid or two. Dance a jig to a sea shanty, play a pirate game and hope you don’t have to walk the plank. If your luck holds, they may tell you where to find some pirate treasure!

Kids of all ages can run up the pirate flag, ring the ship’s bell or make something to take home compliments of the Girl Scout’s “Multi Troop Group.”

Fancy yourself as part of Blackbeard’s crew? Look for our well traveled Blackbeard photo station, signed in Bath, NC on the 300th Anniversary celebration by descendants of Blackbeard’s crew and other players in the Blackbeard story.

“Trade Street Beach” will also feature our growing collection of photo stations, a beach ball net, street chalk for you to create your own masterpiece, hula hoops, bubbles plus the Sayso Coffee Mobile Expresso.

FEATURED EXHIBITION: The DADA Members Gallery at North Trade Street Arts presents an exhibition featuring Mermaids by Rachael Fern. Other art will include Piers of NC by Allison Hutchins, The Big 7: Lighthouses of NC by Rick Jones. Jewelry created with shells from the Outer Banks of NC and other nautical themed jewelry will accompany the show.

HOP FEATURES:

New Gallery Exhibition Openings, Open Studios, Shop Collection Openings and DADA business location participation throughout the Arts District.

The Gallery Hop Extension will be in full swing on both sides of the 700 block of Trade and at DADA locations on Angelo, Ninth and MLK Jr. Streets.
