Respite Recognition

Our Caregiver Respite Grant Program is one of HFC’s most vital programs, so we’re gratified it was recognized through Justice in Aging’s 2021 Impact Award.

Justice in Aging uses legal expertise and strategy to give older adults the opportunity to live with dignity, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Brain Health

Inspired by a Kenyan dish called kuku paka, Bryant Terry’s Panko-Crusted Cauliflower and Coconut Curry hits these brain health must-haves:

  1. Choline helps your brain’s decision and memory-making abilities. Like the decision to eat more cauliflower.
  2. Ketones help protect your noodle from amyloid, the plaques found in many people with Alzheimer’s.

Want to jam while you cook? Bryant suggests “Kajo Golo Weka” by The Eagles Lupopo.

HFC Supports the CHANGE Act

The CHANGE Act is bipartisan legislation that promotes accurate, early detection and diagnosis of Alzheimer’s while providing support to caregivers. HFC is proud to support the CHANGE Act.

What’s a donanemab?

Eli Lilly’s donanemab has received the FDA’s Breakthrough Therapy designation for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. The designation means the medication has shown promise in clinical trials and is fast-tracked for further review.

on a lighter note...

A happy belated birthday to our caring, creative, and courageous co-founder, Lauren Miller Rogen!

When Lauren’s mother was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease at just 55 years old—Lauren, still in her twenties, channeled her many feelings into action to co-found HFC and activate the next generation of Alzheimer’s advocates.

Since then, Lauren has led HFC to raise over $15 million toward Alzheimer’s care and prevention, 350K hours of in-home care to families, and raising awareness—all while maintaining a sense of hope and humor.

We are so inspired by your dedication and in awe of the indelible impact you make every day through your work. With you as our leader, we are proud to bring light to Alzheimer’s!
