The Tribune Review featured expansion plans at veteran farm Pleasant Lane Farms.  Unity farm may have found solution to ‘dairy dilemma.' 
Black Valley Kunekunes , Everett, PA (Bedford Co.) hosted PA Secretary of Agriculture Russell Redding and elected officials, as well as local ag leaders on April 17th. At Black Valley, VA OJT apprentice Joe Capricci and his mentor, Alana Foor, highlighted the benefits of OJT in order to accelerate veterans' transition into agriculture. 
Workshops this week:

Westmoreland Co.: PAWAgN Walk and potluck, Monday, April 29,  5-8 pm.  Learn about foraging and getting to know your weeds. If you would like to join but can't make it in person, feel free to join us for the tour & weed walk via zoom. Stillwaters Farm, 208 Thompson Road, Acme, PA 15610. Please bring a dish to share.


Berks Co, Kutztown: Keeping Chickens, May 4  10:00 am – 1:00 pm, $60

Philadelphia: Next Level Sales: Growing Your Digital Presence, May 2, 6-8 pm, free but pre-register.

Westmoreland Co.: Sheep and Goat Workshops: Hands-On Management Practices, May 3, 9:30 a.m. Greensburg. Free but must register; beginner level.

Allegheny Co.: Breaking Down the Business Plan Workshop May 4, 
8:30 am - 12:30 pm at Entrepreneurship Hub, Chatham Eastside, 6585 Penn Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. Veterans and active service members attend for free: email womenbusinesscenter@chatham.edu for a promotional code. 

       While this workshop is not available at all Small Business Development Centers, similar events are offered throughout PA at nominal cost and sometimes free to mil/vets. Find the Small Business Development Center that serves your area here.
