Our latest news!
It has been a busy summer in the Mueller Lab for Gene Therapy, with very exciting news! Scroll down to learn more!

As usual we attended various walks/runs organized by the Angel Fund for ALS Research, which raises fund for the UMass ALS labs through Dr Brown.

The Mueller Lab for Gene Therapy at the Angel Fund Gala on August 27.

During the Angel Fund annual gala, Dr Mueller was honored with an Angel Award. This Award recognizes the great progress of our lab's gene therapy program for SOD1-linked ALS. We are so grateful for the honor, and more motivated than ever to #DefeatALS!

August was the month of good news: we were thrilled to learn that the NIH-NHLBI awarded us and 4 other UMass labs a 5-year, 11 million dollars program project grant! The PPG will fund new approaches to gene therapy for alpha-one antitrypsin deficiency.

The PPG includes a total of 2 cores and 4 research projects, and our lab has one of each: "Animal Models Core" ($305,929/year) and "Third Generation Liver-Directed Dual-Function AAT Vectors" ($506,928/year). This funding will really help us push forward our alpha-1 program!
Every quarter, we randomly select one donor who will win a private, onsite research update and tour of our lab! Click here to donate!

That's all for now, thank you for your interest in gene therapy research and in our lab! You'll hear back from us in 3 short months.
