We're back! Finally after 114 days we can start to do things together again, and how good does it feel! Getting back into bunch rides and catching up with friends and family have definitely been my highlights, and I'm really looking forward to the start of November when we are able to travel outside of our "Greater Sydney" bubble to travel regionally.

The great news with the easing of restrictions has been we are now able to re-start community sport. For ITC this means a return to group meet-ups for anything swim / bike / run / coffee related and a go-ahead for club races, so good! While we've been pretty quiet on the social-media front for a while, we've been busy getting things lined up for the coming 2021 / 2022 season. After the year we've all had it's looking like this coming tri season in the Illawarra is going to be very good with a lot planned, and I'm excited to share it with everyone involved with the Club.

CLUB RACING IS BACK FOR 2021!

We're very excited to announce our first Club race for the 2021/22 season will be happening on November 21st at Five Islands Secondary College Port Kembla.

As usual we'll be running both of our distances:

ITC Short Club Distance - 200m / 6.6km / 2.2km

ITC Club Distance - 400m / 13.2km / 4.4km

6:45am - Registration opens

7:30am - Registration closes

7:45am - Race briefing

8:00am - Race waves start

To make sure we are delivering Club events under our COVIDSafe Plan which is line with current NSW Health Public Health Orders, we request participants, please adhere to the following:

All participants, volunteers, and spectators 16+ yrs must be fully vaccinated to attend the event (or show proof of medical exemption).
All participants, volunteers, and spectators must check-in at the event using the Service NSW app QR code and provide proof of check-in at event registration.
All participants, volunteers, and spectators 16+ yrs must be able to provide proof of vaccination (or show proof of medical exemption) at event registration.
Request all participants, volunteers, and spectators wear a face mask while in event registration and transition areas.
Follow all other NSW Health Public Health Orders which are in place at time of the event

Remember to renew your Triathlon Australia & ITC membership for the 2021/2022 season!

Don't forget that registration for all ITC members registered with Triathlon Australia is now open in the new GoMembership online system. So far we've had a great response from members signing back up to the Club!!

Check and update all of your personal and contact details
Check your membership status with TA and (this part's new!) ITC
Renew your membership with TA and ITC for the 2021 / 2022 season which started July 1

TA has a new tier-based membership model, so you can choose from a range of membership levels which suit you best. Signing up to ITC as part of your TA membership is actually CHEAPER than signing up to TA alone, so if you're still sitting on the fence head over and sign up! We've also got a range of discounts on ITC memberships for families and, as always, Life Members remain FREE to re-join ITC (because you've earned it 😊!)
Adult Membership (20+) $50 for Premium, Standard, and Basic TA membership levels
Juniors Membership for Premium, Standard, and Basic TA membership levels:

15 - 19 $30
13 - 15 $15
5 - 13 $1 (because we want kids involved in grass-roots sport like ours, and it should be for EVERYONE!)

Social Adults $10
Social Junior (Under 19) $1 (yes, less than a quarter of your post ride coffee)
8-Week Trial Membership $30
14 Day Club Trial Membership FREE
Up to 6 Juniors (No Adults) = 10% discount ITC membership costs
1 Adult + up to 6 Juniors = 20% discount ITC membership costs
2 Adults + up to 6 Juniors = 30% discount ITC membership costs
Triathlon Australia also offers a 20% discount for families of 4 or more for the costs associated with TA membership.

UPDATE 2020 / 2021 ITC Club Presentation & Christmas Party

After having to cancel our originally scheduled Club Presentation earlier in the year, we've locked in a date of 19th December 2021 for our 2020/21 Club Presentation. Being so close to Xmas, it makes sense to combine this into a Christmas Party too. We have our trophies for the Junior and Senior Club Champions for 2020/21, and some new shirts to give out!

So please join us at Towradgi Beach Hotel on the December 19th at 2-5pm. The event is free to attend and is catered for for ITC members, and we encourage you to bring along your partners / kids / friends who might be interested in hanging out with a bunch of 'Gong tri-heads to help celebrate!

ILLAWARRA PARATRIATHETES AT TOKYO 2020 PARALYMPICS

While the dust has been settled for a while now on the 2020 Paralympics, we'd like to give a short massive shout out to to Illawarra-based paratriathlete Jonathan Goerlach, and guide, ITC's David Mainwaring, for their achievements at the Games competing in the PTVI category. An incredible race with the boys fighting all the way to the line. Racing that course on a tandem 🤯 Congratulation on the performance.

Also take notes folks, when it comes to nailing the finish chute, this is how it's done in style!

The events have been set for the Triathlon NSW 2021/2022 South Coast Interclub League. We've been fairly quiet up until now with Club members targeting this, but many of the other Club's in our League who priorities this know ITC is best left unprovoked!
If you are planning our your event schedule for the coming season consider taking up the challenge and gaining those valuable points for our Club at each round of the series. Who knows, we could bring home the title this year!
