This Saturday, True North youth will be doing community service for our favorite Christmas event: An Olde Fashioned Christmas at Schmid Ranch. In partnership with the Telluride Historical Museum, community members are able to cut their Christmas tree, ride sleighs, meet Santa, make wreathes, and enjoy the historic Schmid Family Ranch. Read more about it on the Museum's website, and on our Facebook Event page. Hope to see you Saturday at the Ranch!

We had 10 youth show up to Academic Tutoring last week. Group mentoring is our goal but our three tutors were spread thin! Volunteer tutors are needed; flexible commitment schedule is available. True North Academic Tutoring is offered every Wednesday from 3:15-4:30 at the Telluride High School library. Last year, our Tutoring program enabled five of the lowest performing students to pass their classes and excel to the next grade level. Call Vivian at 708-7195 for more info or to volunteer.   Special THANKS to new tutoring volunteer Pete Boukouzis, who specializes in math and science!

True North presents Trades Tuesdays, offering teenagers training in carpentry, electrical, furniture making and design, and property management.  After school on Tuesdays. Call Lanier at 708-2300 to sign up or to volunteer.

Other opportunities also available in the areas of career exploration, scholarship coaching, outdoor ed and more. Please contact Betsy Walker at 708-0205 to volunteer with teens in Norwood or West End.

True North teens who were bitten by the compassion bug and have initiated a food and clothing collection for their fellow students who are struggling financially, some of whom are homeless. Their project is called "The Pantry." We are so impressed!

Thanks for your support!
