Fringe @ Tramlines returns for a second year

The Fringe at Tramlines returns for a second year on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 July 2019 following a successful launch last summer.

Sheffield City Council and Sheffield BID have created this brand with the backing of the Tramlines Festival, allowing revellers easy access to information on the many events happening across the city over the Tramlines weekend.

Highlights include free outdoor entertainment at The Fringe Stage at Devonshire Green, an 80s/90s disco at The Peace Gardens, Street Performers in Barker’s Pool, a traditional funfair on Fargate and dozens of pubs, clubs and venues across the city featuring bands, DJs and performers over the Tramlines weekend.

UK Invictus Trials and Grand Prix Cycling – road closures

As part of the week-long Invictus UK Trials (22-26 July), cycling competitors will be riding the Sheffield Grand Prix Circuit on Wednesday, 24 July. Then, the annual Sheffield Grand Prix will commence with Youth racing for boys and girls followed by a regional support race and to finish off the day with what is regarded as one of the highlights of the elite circuit series calendar. The elite event attracts some of the country’s top professional riders.

Given the size of the event, this inevitably involves changes to services and the introduction of traffic management measures. The Council is putting plans in place to minimise disruption, but road closures and diversions are required to form the circuit and to ensure the safety of the participants.

In partnership with Sheffield City Council, our Business Crime Reduction Partnership is now a member of National Business Crime Solutions (NBCS) network, thanks to support from Sheffield BID.

NBCS is a national network that shares appropriate data with crime reduction agencies, the police and the business community to proactively target criminality. It provides access to data and intelligence at a regional and national level, so that timely and useful alerts can be sent out to those retailers and businesses who subscribe to the city centre radio network, when known criminals target the city centre.
