I had an enjoyable challenge this week.BBC Radio Gloucester yesterday invited me on to talk and make pastry. I must say Anna King the presenter and I had great fun.

With this in mind, I'm pleased to announce the very first Pastry class on 21 October. I took sausage rolls in made with puff pastry - one of the pastries we'll be learning I do hope you'll come along and learn some new techniques!

We spend around 3 hours baking, stopping for a light lunch (or tea for the Christmas class) along the way working in a small group for maximum enjoyment. Aprons and recipes are provided. Classes are located near Slimbridge, Gloucestershire.

It’s hard to beat home made Christmas pudding and once you’ve tasted home made mincemeat, you’ll never want to eat a shop bought mince pie again!

The course includes all ingredients, recipes and a bowl for your Christmas pudding. Choose from an weekday or weekend course. Classes are kept small for maximum enjoyment!

Classes last approximately 3 hours. Classes start at 1:30 pm.

Belazu Feast at the Abergavenny Festival

Belazu make an amazing range of sauce and oils. On of the highlights of this year's Abergavenny Food Festival was the feast held on Friday night in aid of #CookforSyria cooked by 5 talented chefs all giving their time free. I've just discovered they raised an amazing £11,554 for the cause. As you can see the food was amazing!

The #CookForSyria campaign is a global fundraising initiative curated by Clerkenwell Boy and SUITCASE Magazine in partnership with Unicef Next Generation London, a community group that works in aid of Unicef UK.

After seven years of war, children and families in Syria still face violence, displacement, disease and starvation, with nearly 2 million children living in besieged or hard-to-reach areas. Another 2.6 million children are now living in precarious conditions as refugees in neighbouring Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt and Iraq. There is no sign that war is ending.

Unicef supplies life-saving food, medical care and clean water to children affected by the crisis. Unicef also provides long-term care in the form of education and emotional support, with safe places for children to learn and play. Unicef helps these children put their lives back together.
