First and foremost

Hopefully you've seen our newest effort to do our part in our other social media, but if you're tuning in here first - we have pledged our support for the people of Ukraine, and we're trying to make that tangible by developing a pattern (and kits to make the pattern), and donating ALL proceeds to humanitarian groups on the ground. It feels like a very small thing in the face of the terrible images we see and the appalling stories we hear on the news - but I woke up a week ago feeling like I HAD to DO something. This is our best effort and we would truly appreciate your spreading the info and reposting when you can, tagging others and generally doing what you can to break the internet. Small grassroots efforts can lead to large results. The cowl pattern Sunflower Rising is available at the store (on-line and in person) and on Ravelry now. Pre-orders for the kits are also available now here - they will be dyed to order and shipped by the end of April. Please share.

Seasons of Vermont....

We've begun a new round of Seasons of Vermont Yarn boxes - this year we're organizing around a "Life in Balance" theme. They will be released as close as possible to the 4 seasonal turning points - the Vernal Equinox, the Summer Solstice, the Autumnal Equinox, and the Winter Solstice. The yarns and patterns will play on themes of light and darkness, as well as the seasonal indicators we all know and love. To enhance the idea of balance, we will continue to offer locally sourced items from Vermont-based providers that will appeal to all 5 of your senses - and have added a local beverage option along with a seasonally-inspired recipe from local chef Katie Webster, whose website Healthy Seasonal Recipes is linked here.  We've just released EMERGE, the first box of the year and invite you to dive in and order yours now!
              
The beautiful local yarns are provided by Petersholm Farms and Bobolink Yarns (see section below). Petersholm Farm raises Shetland Sheep, a primitive breed almost extinct, known for their fine wool and eleven natural colors - and they provided the beautiful naturally colored sport weight yarn in our collection. They are located very close to us in Williston VT - about 5 miles from the store! Other products include a gorgeous project bag from one.stitch.back, hand lotion from Pure Energy Apothecary, flower seeds from High Mowing, and our signature sweet treats from Lake Champlain Chocolates and Dakin Farm.

New yarns....

Spring is coming. No, really it is! Locals may not believe me - we've had a few teasers, but the temps are dropping again next week, so it's hard to keep the faith. BUT - the daffodils are peeking above ground, it is definitely MUD season here in many places, and the sap is running....so we're stocking up on Spring Yarns - beautiful cottons and linens, so get your summer sweater projects Teed up and done for when the temps really cooperate!
We've got some in-store already (in all sorts of weights) and more on the way - so stay tuned!

Bobolink Yarns is updating their inventory at the store - we've got a fresh supply of new kits and great new colors for many of their products. So fresh that we're still updating the website - but definitely check it out in person if you're local and the website will be updated this week!

It's not all yarn in the store - we've got lots of other stuff, as you know....and if you're a lover of ChiaoGoo needles, we have very good news for you! That's right - we brought them in to expand our needle offerings. Let us know if you can't find what you need and we'll happily special order them for you.
