• The Nelson County Service Authority will hold a public hearing this week on the major water and sewer rate increase proposed earlier this year, says The Nelson County Times. The paper says the monthly base service fee on the Wintergreen Mountain system for water is now $41.85; for sewer, it is $47.05 ($88.90 total). If the increase is approved, rates would rise to $45.99 for water and $54.10 for sewer ($100.09 total). A part of the proposed increase is to help fund major improvements to Wintergreen's wastewater treatment system. More details in The Nelson County Times.
