CHANGES TO GRIEVANCE & DISCIPLINARY REGULATIONS

We’ve recently published some changes to the Grievance & Disciplinary Regulations (the Regulations that impact on Send Offs, Yellow Cards, Appeals & Protests).  The previously permitted challenging a send off under “Exceptional Circumstances” has been removed from the regulations and replaced with new regulations.  There have also been additions to send off regulations in relation to R6 (The use of Offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures), and some min/max suspensions have also been changed.  These changes, in most cases, are in line with Football NSW Regulation changes.

WEBSITE OF CHOICE

Administrators from Nepean FA attended an Administrators forum held at Football NSW this week to be brought up to speed with what’s going on in the world of community football.
The issue of the sense of entitlement displayed by some players, spectators and team officials to act in a disrespectful manner towards their opponents and match officials was once again the topic for discussion and the only comfort that we took from the discussion was that it is not just happening in our district.

RAY CALLS FOR RESPECT – WATCH THE VIDEO

An interesting point raised was that a recent study revealed that when organisations try to educate their members on matters of sporting respect by way of articles in newsletters the very people the article is aimed towards tend to ignore the article because they don’t believe it applies to them!
So if you’ve read this far and you’re about to move on perhaps you need to click on the links to this week’s website of interest & related video, just to double check that you’re not who we’re taking to.

REMINDER - LIMIT OF ONLY 1 COACH PER TEAM, PER GAME
There is a concern with teams who have multiple coaches in place at games.  All teams are reminded that our Regulations allow for only one person to act in the capacity of Coach in each Match.  Some teams have up to 4 registered coaches, which is permissible as we recognise that work & playing commitments may keep coaches from attending all training sessions and games, but having multiple registered coaches does not give teams permission to have multiple coaches in a match situation.  One coach only in the Technical Area on Match Days, and only one coach to be signed on and identified on match days.  Team sheets will be checked and continued breaches may result in LOP for teams.

LAWS OF THE GAME

Law 4 - The Players Equipment

This law is where the Referee is empowered to determine whether or not you can play, based on your equipment.
Equipment includes glasses, any form of jewellery, clothing, including the colours of the clothing (and how that relates to your uniforms), such as Skins worn under shorts or shirts, religious veils (permitted, in case you were wondering), shin pads, boots, and whether or not team colours are considered to clash requiring a change of strip or forfeit by the away team.
In a nutshell;
  1. The visiting team must change if colours are considered to clash by the Referee. If you don’t have an alternate strip, you forfeit the game.
  2. Skins must be as close as possible to the dominant colour of your uniform
  3. Glasses cannot be worn unless they are considered safe by the referee
  4. NO JEWELLERY can be worn. Neither can it be tapped over in a bid to make it safe or conceal it.This is not negotiable, and no amount of arguing with the Referee is going to make you right. (so if you’re thinking of getting that brow or lip pierced, wait until the off season)
  5. No casts on arms or legs – no amount of padding makes any difference. If you’re in a cast, you can’t play.
  6. Goalies must change their shirts if their shirt clashes with opposition team or their own team.
