Thank you for those who have started to make donations to Keep it Fox. We now have 20 regular monthly donors and have had a handful of one-off donations. More details on the reasons we are raising funds can be found here (attached file included in this email).
Did you know? A £21/month donation per child would fill the gap.
2. Set up a recurring monthly Standing Order to Keep It Fox. Gift Aid Declaration form.
The school will report at the beginning of each financial year exactly how much has been donated and how this money has been used
The Great Fox Ride
If you are going to take part in the ride please register your interest on the web site. If a family member and or friend is going to take part please register them. Although a community event, it is also a fundraiser and so friends or family will be asked to raise money for the Fox Federation. Please take time to look at the presentation which happened this Friday.
Fox Play bookings
Fox Play bookings must be made via the School Gateway app or desktop site in advance or by 3pm on the day of the session (1.45pm on Fridays). Please note that there is a limit to the number of children that can be in FoxPlay, so bookings at the earliest opportunity is recommended.
We are still receiving requests to squeeze children on to FoxPlay. Please be advised that we are no longer able to accommodate these request for safeguarding reasons. If you are unable to book online, this means that FoxPlay is at maximum capacity and will no longer be able to admit children due to Safeguarding reasons.
We are in the 3rd week of instrumental lessons this term and the lessons are going very well. As timetables for these lessons are set well in advance at the start of the academic year, may we request that both parents and children commit to the lessons for a year to avoid disruption to group lessons and timetables. Please note that we will no longer accept changes or cancellations going forward.
Payment requests for the whole year have been set up on your child's School Gateway account and can be paid in termly installments. You are more than welcome to pay a year in advance or on the due dates set on the payment request.
Please also remind your children to look after the instruments provided by the school and to bring them in weekly along with their music book/notes as per the tutor's instructions.

Ms Madden recommends...
I am currently loving El Deafo, a graphic novel written and illustrated by Cece Bell. The book is a loose autobiographical account of Bell's childhood and living with her deafness. However, the characters in the book are all rabbits. The story centres around Cece's experiences at school, where she feels convinced that everyone is starting at her, because of hearing aid - 'the phonic ear'. Her phonic ear also brings her superpowers - the ability to hear her teacher talking, when she is out of the room... Endless possibilities! Like 'Roller Girl', which I reviewed recently, this book sensitively explores subtle issues around friendships. There is also plenty in the way that it is constructed - the plot, the illustrations, and the metaphors used throughout - for very high level discussion around authorial and illustrator choice- possible from Year 2 to Year 6. But, the best thing about this book is the chance for the reader to develop their empathy. It brilliantly portrays the experience of feeling 'different' in life - both in and out of school - and that is really important for everyone to explore.
