School council elections 2018-2019
It is time to elect our new school councillors for Year 2,3,4, and 5 School Council will be made up of one boy and one girl from each year group from Year 2 – Year 6, voted for by their year group. They will be elected for the whole year and attend meetings with Mrs Hardisty. Part of the role will include feeding back to their year group and listening to their suggestions.
The application forms are attached. If you need a hard copy, please ask your class teacher. Please talk to your child about School Council and whether they’d like to be involved and support them in completing the application form. Applications are due in next Thursday 14th February, when the children will make a short presentation to their class and explain why they’d be a good school councillor. Then the class will vote and the elected children will be introduced in that Friday’s assembly.
Please note that children cannot apply if they have been in School Council within the past three years.
Good luck and we look forward to receiving their applications!
I would like to say thank you and well done to last year’s school councillors. They did a fantastic job and were a credit to Fox School.

The Great Fox Ride 7th - 8th June
Thank you to staff/parents/carers and friends who have signed up for the Great Fox Ride. Thank you to all the riders for placing their jersey orders. This has now been placed with Santini and should be with the school in 50 days. We have ordered some extra tops just in case new riders sign up, or riders decide on an additional top.
Please take time to look at the www.greatfoxride.com as new posts are added regularly as well as information to help riders. For example, there is a code enabling riders/family and friends to get a discount on the ferry across to the Isle of Wight.
Remember the next training ride is Saturday 8th March into the Surrey Hills. See photos below of Fox staff training indoors with turbo trainers and satf and parents braving -4 degrees in Richmond Park last Saturday.
Internet Safety Week
Fox has had a fantastic week celebrating E-safety and Safer Internet Day.
On Monday, all year groups participated in assemblies outlining why E-safety is so important and how they can make sure they are safe and responsible members of the online community. A key focus in these assemblies were the ideas of permission and consent.
As well as this, each year group has completed an E-safety activity in class and considered how they can become ‘Internet Legends’ by being ‘Sharp, Alert, Secure, Kind and Brave’ whilst using the internet.
Finally, throughout the week Years 5 and 6 have used a question wall to share their thoughts and ideas about the internet and E-safety.
Mr Moss recommends for Year 3-6 children the interactive E-safety game ‘Interland’ which is an engaging, challenging and thought provoking take on E-safety. Find it here.
It has been brought to our attention that some children are accessing the Tiktok app. The minimum age for this app is 13 years old. You can find more about it here:
