New Year = A New Life! Decide today who you will become, what you will give how you will live.” -- Tony Robbins 💸

Dear Vestpoders,

💥 Here we come 2020! We’re ready for you. Well sort of. We’ve started planning for you already this week, because 2020 has to be the year we all take a step towards financial security or independence. It’s all about being practical, pragmatic and sensible. Yes it’s the New Year but I believe resolutions are ephemeral. We all want to be “new” in January but are we not still the same?! So we’ll drop the big macro dreams and focus on simple steps that really might change our life. We still love to set goals but let’s be realistic!

👯 For Vestpod’s coming year, I want to offer you more content and events (IRL and online) for you to learn and grow the community (i.e. more women for you to talk about money with). We’ve decided to send this newsletter every 2 weeks in 2020 but we are re-focusing our content and will bring you more money stories, money tips and concrete things you can do for your money. The little add-on is that we’re now taking paid contributions from freelance authors and journalists who will start writing opinion pieces for us about money, so feel free to send us a pitch if you think that’s you!

📩 Starting this week, we’re asking financial experts and advisers to give their top money tips, starting with Rachel, Melissa is writing about Financial Goals that are rarely met (and that's ok) vs. goals that are actionable & achievable to look to this year.

Have a good year! You can do this!

Let’s Talk About...
Financial Goals
We’re all moving in to the new year - and decade, which only compounds things - with that classic January combo of optimism for a bright future and a nagging awareness of the old bad habits that always seem to hold us back. When it comes to financial new year’s resolutions, our ambitions (“save twenty grand!”) often seem to outstrip our abilities (“don’t buy new shoes every Saturday”).
