We are launching a new “Women Invest” series where we’ll be interviewing on stage some of the most influential women in finance and fintech to inspire more of us to get started investing.

I am super happy to invite you to a pre-Christmas celebration with a very special guest: Romi Savova, one of the most inspiring women in the fintech space. Co-founder and CEO of PensionBee (an online pension manager), Romi is on a mission to simplify pension savings in the UK, following a harrowing pension transfer experience of her own.

What to expect? A fireside chat with Romi about her journey from Goldman Sachs (at the start of the global financial crisis) to launching PensionBee, raising funding as a female founder, the importance of investing money for the long term, a clear jargon-free explanation of how pensions work and how can you make the most of them, followed by a Q&A and then drinks.
This discussion will be a positive discussion about women and money; we will talk about:
  • What are the challenges women face when it comes to saving and investing for the long term and how to overcome these?
  • What does Romi’s journey building PensionBee look like?
  • How do pensions work?
  • When can you start investing and how?
  • How to pick your first investments
  • What are robo-advisers? Who can help you during your investing journey?
  • Should you consolidate your pensions?
  • Why are women great investors?
...and much more. Feel free to send me your questions in advance via Vestpod or Instagram!

This event is for all levels and genders. We’ll kill the jargon and make it relevant for all. We are not financial advisers - this is purely an educational session!

I am the founder and CEO of Vestpod. Formerly working in private equity, I launched Vestpod to change the conversation about money and empower women financially. I started my career at Lehman Brothers where I worked as an analyst in private equity merchant banking. Reflecting on my years working in finance, I realized I was not saving or investing enough and could not find the support to do so. I then decided to launch Vestpod for women - as a way to provide education and a community for women to start breaking the taboo around money. Vestpod is a digital platform with a popular weekly newsletter as well as personal finance workshops and networking events. You can find Vestpod at:

About Romi: Romi is the CEO of PensionBee and is responsible for its overall strategic development and operational management. Romi has spent her career working in investment banking, risk management and financial technology. She’s just been recognised in AltFi Powerlist 50 list and won Entrepreneur of the Year category at CityAM awards.
About my first book: You'Re Not Broke, You'Re Pre-Rich. Never go out the week before payday? Have less than £1,000 saved? Does this sound all too familiar? If so, it's time to take back control of your bank balance. One out of three millennials today will never be able to buy their own house. Does it have to be like this? You're Not Broke You're Pre-Rich will tell you that it really doesn't; you can have your avocado on toast and stop renting and start saving too.
