"Why is it when a woman is confident and powerful, they call her a witch?" -- Lisa Simpson 🌟

I hope you’re having a good week! I didn’t send out a newsletter last week, it was just so busy!

👻 It’s Halloween today so I wanted to talk about people's biggest fear: MONEY! And how not to freak out about it. But there was some depressing news this week: the share of women in senior finance roles in the U.K. has been the same since 2005, at around 17% (more below in the news section). So... trick or treat?

👯 On Tuesday we organised our sold-out investing workshop and on Friday the one about managing money for freelancers (photos and replay). It was so cool to see so many of you there - I loved it. I also did a talk for Declare members on Monday about financial literacy where we talked about spending, budgeting and earning more, i.e. building wealth! I have also joined private club The Wing, so meet me there!

🌟 In this week’s newsletter, we’ll look at the main money news of the week, money worries, our anonymous money story, book reviews and events.

On our minds this week:

How to Stop
Freaking Out About Money
It’s that spooky time of year again, and if you’re reading this after dark, you can expect a knock on the door from ghoulies, ghosties and long-leggedy beasties (and hopefully a few cute toddlers dressed as pumpkins).
So naturally we got to asking ourselves what scares us most about money? And how can we work towards exorcising those horrible finance ghosts?
