Risk comes from not knowing what you're doing. -- Warren Buffett, one of the most successful investors in history 💸

I hope you’re having a good week! I have been travelling to Guernsey and Paris and ran many corporate events over the past few weeks. It has been fun (you can see some pics on Instagram)!

I am also very happy to announce that we are launching a new “Women Invest” series where we’ll be interviewing on stage some of the most influential women in finance and fintech to inspire more of us to get started investing. We have a very special guest: Romi Savova, one of the most inspiring women in the fintech space. Co-founder and CEO of PensionBee (an online pension manager), Romi is on a mission to simplify pension savings in the UK, following a harrowing pension transfer experience of her own.

📈 Come and join us on Wednesday, December 18th at one of our favourite places: Huckletree East in Shoreditch. Christmas costumes / jumpers most welcome.

😳 Many women don’t invest money and often it’s because we don’t feel confident getting started. But while cash savings are crucial for the short and medium term, investing is key to make your money work harder for the long term (I am not a financial adviser btw and yes investing is risky). On the blog, we’re exploring the investing habits of women and deep-diving on some research for you. I just hope this will boost women’s confidence when it comes to investing!

🏠 The Help to Buy ISA will close to new accounts at midnight on 30 November 2019. If you have already opened a Help to Buy ISA, you will be able to continue saving into your account until November 2029. More about it here.

🌟 In this week’s newsletter, we’ll look at the main money news of the week, our anonymous money story, book reviews and events.

What On Earth
Are We Doing With Our Money?
It’s a sad fact that women are lagging behind when it comes to investing. According to a survey by The Telegraph, “only 10% of women have a stocks and shares Isa compared to 17% of men”. Yet investing for the long term is crucial. There’s a lot of talk about “masculine” vs “feminine” style (with personal finance and everything else it seems, at the moment) and yes, sometimes these notions can be far from helpful...
