Making Money with Impact Investing:
Dream or Reality?
Ladies,

I'm super happy to invite you to a breakfast event on the theme of Impact Investing 💥. I have started to be more intentional with where I am spending money. But how does this relate to investing? Can we invest in line with what we care about the most and make a difference with our money?

💭 In fact, it’s something that 84% of women say they’re interested in, according to Ellevest. Investing with impact sounds great on paper, but I found it very difficult to find reliable and non-contradictory information. So how can this strategy play out in practice? What are the returns we should be expecting as well as the risks? What are the pitfalls? Where can we learn more?

💚 This time we have 3 amazingly inspiring women that will come and share their own stories with impact investing: Georgia, Julia and Liv (see below👇). They all work in the space and have different missions and experiences so expect an empowering debate.

💸 This event is for all levels, you don’t need to be an advanced investor, we’ll kill the jargon and make it relevant for all. We are not financial advisers and this is purely an educational session!

Friday 18th January at 8:00am at Huckletree Shoreditch.
8:00am tea,coffee, pastries
8:30am panel discussion
9:30am end and networking
Tickets are £15, including breakfast.

Looking forward to it!

About our speakers:

Georgia Stewart: Georgia is co-founder of Tumelo, a mobile app that helps you change the world through engaged investing. She is passionate about climate change and conservation and believes that positive investment coupled with shareholder engagement is the best way to affect global change. During her Cambridge degree, she sat on the Positive Investment Committee, tasked with improving the way the University invested its £5bn endowment. She’s worked for multiple ‘green’ investment houses, such as Jupiter, and the Natural Capital Coalition for Fauna & Flora.

Julia Groves: Since co-founding britishairways.com in 1994, Julia has invested a combination of her time and money in a series of new businesses in the digital and environmental sectors, including most recently Trillion Fund, a loan based crowdfunding platform for renewable energy projects. She co-founded the UK Crowdfunding Association in 2012, and has been instrumental in reforming regulation for crowd investors, and in the creation of the new Innovative Finance ISA. Julia joined Downing in March 2016 to lead the crowdfunding business Downing Crowd, offering asset-backed bonds to retail investors.

Olivia Sibony: In late 2017, Liv joined Angel Investment Network in order to launch and grow their spinoff platform, SeedTribe. SeedTribe enables investors to fund “impactful” companies – profit-led companies which address a social and/or environmental challenge. Liv is also an entrepreneur and a Board member of UCL's Fast Forward 2030, which inspires the next generation of entrepreneurs to launch businesses that address the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

About Emilie Bellet: I launched Vestpod to empower women through financial education. Vestpod is your go-to-place when it comes to money: popular weekly newsletter, personal finance workshops and networking events. Featured on BBC, Vestpod has been shortlisted for the 2018 Women in Finance awards as Disruptor of the Year; and Emilie is a co-author of the WEALTHtech book.
