"THANK YOU so much for the most amazing event. SO informative but a great safe space of likeminded people so BRAVO!" -- Vestpod community member 🌟

Hello!

It was so nice to meet many of you on Wednesday at our Property event! I will share the full talk on our Youtube channel over the coming days:)

October means it’s the start of Q4 so while we’re all already thinking about Christmas, we still have 3 strong months ahead to achieve whatever we want to get done.

I have been following Sophia Amoruso, founder of NastyGal and more recently Girlboss (get her book too) for a few years now. And I have always been really impressed by her vision and level of resilience. Sophia has published an article on LinkedIn where she focuses on individual goals, including some personal milestones we can definitely aim for ourselves over the next three months.

Why don’t you get started again if you’ve missed your yearly goals (or completely forgot about them)? Make sure you use the SMART framework for goal setting. I find it really helpful: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time-Based goals.

Here are a few examples:
  • Make a budget if you don’t have one. We like the 50/20/30 [add link].
  • Repay any short term debts that, if left to fester, will end up costing you so much more (credit cards, overdraft and payday loans)
  • Contribute to your emergency fund (while experts recommend 3-6 months of living expenses, just start somewhere… £500?!)
  • Start building up a little Christmas budget and fund to help you avoid spending on your credit card come December
  • Save for your other goals: short, medium and long term (don’t forget retirement!)
  • Track your old work pensions
  • Prepare for your annual salary negotiation by writing down your recent achievements
  • Read a money book and educate yourself
  • Find a money partner you can start talking about money with!
You can do this!

📅 As promised our next London workshop is coming up on October 22nd and it’s our signature “Introduction to Investing”, there are still a few tickets left!

🌟 In this week’s newsletter, we’ll look at the main money news of the week; we are interviewing Kim, followed by our anonymous money story, book reviews and events.

Have a good day!
