Those of you familiar with us here at Applied Colour know that our company is built on the strength of our relationships. To that end, and given the new, social media / electronic era that we are immersed in, we wanted to continue developing relationships through a Quarterly Newsletter.  But this won’t be your typical corporate newsletter - it will, instead, offer a few peeks behind the curtain, so to speak - a couple of tidbits in every issue that show a different side of Applied Colour.  We hope you like it and share it with your friends and family and, as always, your feedback is greatly appreciated.
Applied Colour Expands into
British Columbia
Applied Colour believes in people living their passion, so, when our Sr. Estimator/Safety Officer Michael McCarthy came into the office to tell us that he and his wife had decided to move to Victoria we were thrilled to support him and Barb in their dream.  Given Michael's passion for what he does and his level of experience in the commercial painting industry it seemed like the perfect time to expand Applied Colour's horizons as well, and, as such, Applied Colour BC was born.  Michael and Barb head to the coast at the beginning of May to start a new chapter in their lives and Michael will be bringing the service, dedication and quality workmanship of Applied Colour to the greater Victoria area!
We're at it again.....
Applied Colour believes that work should be fun, in this particular case it was easier than normal!

You've head the saying, Boys and their Toys.... well it doesn't get any better than this.  We were brought in to  freshen up some heavy equipment for a construction company here in Edmonton and the Applied crew had a blast bringing these giants back to their full luster! In the past 4 months we've given a fresh new look to 6 Caterpillar 777 rock trucks, and a D-10 dozer.  Last year we added a D-9 dozer and a John Deer track hoe to our repertoire.

Watch for our new promotional to hit your in box this summer!
The Benjamin Moore Colour and Design Team traveled the globe and after months of research has created Colour Trends 2016 . We are thrilled to announce their Colour of the Year for 2016:
Elegant or understated, neutral or graphic, white is the ultimate in versatility. The starting point for every artist, white is where inspiration begins.

Click the link on the above noted colour and discover for yourself how Benjamin Moore chose their colour of the year.
What we're reading....
The Surrender Experiment, my journey into life's perfection
What would it be like if you put down your personal preferences and said "yes" to all the events that came into your life?

In essence, that's exactly what Michael Singer did when he walked away from his graduate degree in Economics at the University of Florida, where he was being groomed by the department chair to become a college professor.
"We have been gifted the power of will.  From deep inside, we can determine how we want something to be and apply the power of our minds, hearts and bodies in an attempt to make the outside world conform.  But this puts us in a constant battle of our way versus the way it would be without our intervention.  This battle between individual will and the reality of life unfolding around us ends up consuming our lives.  When we win the battle, we are happy and relaxed; when we don't, we are disturbed and stressed.  Since most of us only feel good when things are going our way, we are constantly attempting to control everything in our lives.

What we have here is the basis for an experiment. At the heart of the experiment is a simple question: Am I better off making up an alternate reality in my mind and then fighting with reality to make it be my way, or am I better off letting go of what I want and serving the same forces of reality that managed to create the entire perfection of the universe around me?

This experiment would not be about dropping out of life, it would be about leaping into life to live in a place where we are no longer controlled by our personal fears and desires.

I have called this "the surrender experiment", and to the best of my ability, I have devoted the last forty years of my life to seeing where the flow of life's events would naturally take me."

The events that transpire in this book will both challenge your deepest assumptions about life and inspire you to look at your own life in a radically different way!  We hope you enjoy it as much as many of our staff members have. Happy Reading!
