Monthly Update and Prayer Request from the Knickerbockers, Church Planters to Wilmington, DE
Knickerbocker Prayer Letter

The Joy of Deputation

We are grateful for the many opportunities we have had to present our burden to see a local church established in the city of Wilmington, DE. We have been able to minister and present in 6 churches in the last two months. Each church has been very kind, and we have come away from each meeting encouraged by the pastors and God's people. Three churches have decided to take us on for monthly support! We praise the Lord for answered prayer!

Soul Winning in Wilmington

My first time knocking on doors in Wilmington was very productive. On a Thursday afternoon in March, Pastor Moore and I began knocking on doors. I was able to speak with a lady named Sonia. Sonia is a Spanish-speaking lady who is fluent in English. I was able to share the Gospel with Sonia, and she trusted Christ as her personal Savior! She was very interested in the Bible and she said that no one had ever opened the Bible with her. She has been in the Catholic church most of her life. Please pray for her, and pray that we would be able to start a discipleship course with her. Also pray that we could speak with her husband Daniel, and that he would come to know Christ as his Savior.

We were able to take a group from Capitol Baptist Church up to Wilmington at the beginning of April. Over thirty people showed up to knock on doors, letting people know about the new church. We had two people make professions of faith in Christ. Several folks from the community expressed interested in receiving more information about the new church. We praise the Lord for His work in people's lives.

I was able to meet Ted who has lived his whole life in the Philadelphia/Wilmington area. He said several times that he doesn't know of a good church in the city. He is currently not going to church anywhere because he said he was not being spiritually fed. I asked him if he would be interested in being part of a Bible study, and he excitingly declared "YES." That was a thrill to my heart. Please pray as we seek to start this Bible study in the next months ahead.

Our Goals for this Year!

We are very excited about First State Baptist Church starting in Wilmington. Here is a list of goals we would like to see the Lord enable us to accomplish by the end of the year:
1. Start a Bible study with people we are reaching in Wilmington
2. Schedule 40 church meetings this year to present our ministry
3. Be at 80% of our needed support by the end of this year
5. See 30 people come to know Christ as Savior in Wilmington
6. Find a place to be able to meet before we start the church on April 2nd, 2017.

We are excited to see what the Lord is going to do! God is at work and we expect great things from God, as we seek to glorify His name by living our lives yielded to the Holy Spirit.
