A UU Summer is Here!

Dear Fellowship,
This summer has been a busy one.  Personally, we've had a few trials at the Thompson-King household.  As you all know, Demetrius and Danielle experienced a house fire.  Everyone made it out safely, and thanks to the help of our awesome UU family and the greater Lima community, the family of four and both dogs have begun settling into a new home!  Thank you for all your well wishes, prayers, and various means of assistance!  On the heels of that emotional roller-coaster, Carla unfortunately suffered a kidney infection and upper respiratory illness.  She's still recovering, and could use your healing thoughts and prayers.  Despite our own challenges, the church is still doing quite well!  Thanks to everyone who helped tear down the ramp, and to the fine folks at Ford whom Pat Fernandez connected us with, we have a brand new, beautiful ramp.  Special thanks belong to Lance Kennedy who put in a lot of work hefting lumber and stone!  Now, about our summer and what's all going on... I've attached a draft schedule that includes some dates and times for various meetings and events - like Louise's birthday bash!  I will be adding to it and updating it as more information is made available.  Carla has created a Google calendar for the fellowship to stay organized, and we'll also make the schedule available in email and hard copy.  One big piece yet to come is a schedule of live music performances to be announced very soon.  Please stay tuned for that.  Also, as promised, I'll be reaching out to many of you to get committees up and rolling and to do some cleaning, organizing, and upkeep at the fellowship house.  If anyone has any questions or needs anything at all, please do not hesitate to call or text me at (419) 860-0168 and/or email at  It's gonna be a great summer at Lima UU!
Take care,
Jacob King

We turned 60!  Thanks Louise for cutting the cake and everything else you've done for the Fellowship over the years!

Build Your Own Theology Group to start in July!

Based on the assumption that everyone is their own theologian, this classic UU adult education program invites participants to develop their own personal credos, the fundamental religious beliefs, values, and convictions that inform and direct their lives. Gilbert Poses five developmental tasks in which participants come to terms with human nature, ultimate reality, history, ethics and religious meaning. Begins with an introduction to our seven UU principles. Ten Sessions.  Please contact Anne Edwards if interested, 10 participants max.
