“Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth.”  Arthur Conan Doyle

NW Side Irish Parade
Thank you to all of the families that joined us for the NW Side Irish Parade. We had a wonderful crowd that helped show off our Wolf Pride! It was a beautiful, sunny day and we handed out almost 100 flyers about our school, along with tons of candy, to the crowd. Many of us rounded out the afternoon with some Irish food at Vaughn's Pub, which was arranged by our Parents' Club!  Thanks to all involved. See a few of the photos below.

Prayers For Peace
Our country is still grieving the loss of innocents, this time the attack at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School which took the lives of 15 children and two teachers. In addition to this this latest tragedy, our city continues to experience daily violence that often affects our Catholic parishes and school families. At times such as these, our Catholic faith leads us to seek solace and strength in prayer, and fellowship and solidarity with those who are wounded and suffering great loss. In our mission as educators, we must recognize that the children in our care look to us for guidance and redouble our efforts to teach peace making. Such education is part of our Catholic mission, as we seek to share the compassion and love of Christ with the communities we serve.

On Wednesday, March 13, our students gathered together in church to pray the Rosary specifically praying not only for peace in our schools, but throughout the world.

EMPOWER ILLINOIS UPDATES AND RESOURCES FOR FAMILIES

We received an update on frequently asked questions and additional resources today with the latest information from Empower Illinois.

When will I receive my email?
Please remind families that it may take several weeks for them to receive an email invitation to begin their scholarship application.  Even though they haven’t received an email, as long as they received a confirmation number when making their reservation, their place in line has been saved and scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis subject to the availability of funds. If the applicant/family received their reservation number but has misplaced it, their place in line is still secure.

If we see an application email bounce back, we will follow up with the applicant via other means.

How can I tell if my documents have been uploaded and how do I reset my password?
These are the two most common questions received on the scholarship hotline, so we have added a special “Account Assistance” page to our website.

Who should families call for specific application help?
We encourage all families to call the Empower Illinois Scholarship Hotline (English) 1-855-318-1222 or (Spanish) 1-612-548-3337 for any specific or technical questions about their application. We are also happy to announce extended weekend phone support hours:
  • Saturday, 8am-12pm central
  • Sunday, 12-3pm central
