FAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT UPDATE
Chancellor Steve Schwab issued the following statement today regarding the FLSA ruling:
As you may have heard a court has enjoined the Department of Labor from enforcing the new changes to the Fair Labors Standard Act regulations which were scheduled to go in effect on December 1, 2016. Our campus has reviewed the court's order and has decided to move forward with the changes outlined in previous communications with affected employees and research postdoctoral trainees based upon the competitive demands and unique circumstances of a health science center. Thank you for your continued commitment to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
