As your department's business manager, It is crucial that the information regarding this year's Open Enrollment period for 2016 be shared with each of the employees within your area.  This year's open enrollment period has been shortened from one month to two weeks (October 3 - 14).  There are major changes in insurance coverage this year and all employees are strongly encouraged to review their insurance coverage and to make changes early during this shortened enrollment period.
Notes from the Procurement Office

Every year on October 1, the US Government updates the travel per diems for the Continential US (CONUS).  These new rates have been loaded, effective for all trips starting on or after 10/1/2016.  NOTE: Lodging for trips that span the 9/30 - 10/1 boundary will automatically be calculated for all the days at the new rate effective 10/1.  To receive old rates for the days through 9/30, one lodging expense receipt must be entered for those dates.  An additional lodging expense receipt for days on or after 10/1 must be entered to get the new rate for those dates.

New Framework Purchase Orders
  • Bio-Raid PO #6500000713 has been replaced with PO #5500006697.  This vendor has a blanket PO and is on UT Market Place.
  • Microscopes and Accessories - these purchase orders offer an array of microscopes, microscope accessories and services and enable departments to order goods and services from these suppliers without going through a bidding process or sole sourcing (also known as "non-competitive justification"). The contract term for these purchase orders is from May 1, 2016 - June 30, 2021 with an optional 5-year extension. 
    • Hitachi (PO #5500006663) - Entire microscope and accessories product line, training, warranty, and service.
    • Hunt Optics/ B&B (PO #5500006473) - Entire microscope and accessories product line including used, refurbished and new, training, warranty, and service.
    • JEOL (PO #5500006649) - Entire line of microscopes and accessories and related services.
    • Keyence (PO #5500006489) - Entire line of microscopes and accessories and related services.
    • Leica Microsystems (PO #5500006569) - Entire microscope and accessories product line including used, refurbished and new, training, warranty, and services.
    • Meiji Techno America (PO #5500006496) - Entire line of microscopes and accessories and related services.
    • New York Microscope (PO #5500006576) - OPTIKA microscopes and accessories.
    • Nikon (PO #5500006527) - Entire microscope and accessories product line including used, refurbished and new, training, warranty, and services.

Annual Refresher Training for Information Security Awareness 

This year, the Information Security Awareness training was delayed due to many factors.  In past years, the training was rolled out and completed much earlier in the year.  For 2016, we have aligned with an academic year instead of a calendar year, with October being the month we are pushing to get all faculty and staff trained on Information Security Awareness.

For those staff members who are not new to campus in 2016, the refresher course for Information Security Awareness is already loaded in Blackboard and is ready to use.  The recommended browser to complete training is Firefox, however Chrome will work also.  Do not use Internet Explorer or Edge, as these are not guaranteed to record your scores properly.

The deadline to have the campus trained is October 31, 2016.  Reports to show individual’s completed status by department are being created for iLogin.  Information Security could use the help of the Business Managers to advise your staff of the required training and the deadline for completion.
